Base equipment at level 4?

Base equipment at level 4?

Hey I'm a tad bit worried, is it normal that at level 4 I still have the beginner silver sword and armor, the only good thing I've got thats not starter are hunter boots and gauntlets and a steel sword that deals 38-41 dps. The problem is that emerald dust costs too much so I can't get a better silver sword and armor is god darn pricey or I don't have the materials to craft it.Did I mess up or did you guys begin this way?

No, you didn't mess up. The emerald dust is the only thing keeping me from getting a nice silver and steel sword at the moment and I was so desperate I tryed getting through the gate to novigrad to hopefully find a lower price and it cost me failing two quests along the way because my level is just to low for my adventure across no man's land. I literally swam to novigrad...hahahaha...and the damm emerald dust was still over 800 bucks.../...gold there....hahahahaha....and I need to buy 2...lol But I'm having a great time try'in ( Lvl 4 )

No, you didn't mess up. wraiths drop emerald dust, so if you can find a couple its highly likely 1 will drop the dust for you.

@Bran I've only fought one wraith when I was level two, it only left a pile of ash and nothing more.

there are a couple near a saw mill in white orchard, sometimes they will drop ash but most times they drop 2 or 3 different types of dust including emerald.
