BEFORE EE Install ZERO problems AFTER Well nothing but plain Wierdness

I bought the original Witcher the when it first came out ...at that time I was running the game on my old computer and it worked fine. When I bought my new system last May I reinstalled The Witcher patched up to date. I must tell you the first time I saw The Witcher on my new system I could not believe my eyes it was sooo beautiful....I asked to myself.... Self how in the world can this beautiful piece of art be improved upon in this upcoming Enhanced Edition? Well now I got so excited yesterday waiting all day to get off work and go home and download this new patch and see the NEW DEAL. So after getting it downloaded and all set up I launch the game.As soon as it launched WOW VERY ODD all the FX Lighting on the Chassie of my computer turned off then came back on at the main menu, BUT with a Totally different color setup than before I launched the game. So then I started a new campaigne but whenI get to the fortress all the lighting is messed up ....Torch lights just look like little yellow balls..and they appear through solid brick walls and character faces...All lighting is just very distorted mainly seen on character faces...Fire just looks like big orange glows....Character shadows seem to have a life of their own...remaining after the character has moved acouple seconds then following.....I feel like I am in the Witcher Twigh Light Zone.....I sure hope someone can help me fix these problems...or I am definitely going to unistall EE and reinstall the original game back.Since buying my new computer The Witcher has run very well on the highest settings.....All my drivers are up to date....I would post my DXDIAG but am at work right now. I have duel Nvidia 8800 GTs running in SLI

Ok I have analysed with the PC Wizard and I am also attaching my DXDIAG. First froblem is when I launch the game the FX lighting on the chassis of my computer turns off....Then I start the game and just as the game finishes loading and i enter the game world the lights on the chassis come back on again but with a different color setting than i have it set on..When close the game an the lighting revert back to my original settings as soon as the desktop appears. I have had problems with lighting effects in the game world itself....torch lights look like glowing golden balls of light and you can see them through everything.....very anoying .....Also the sunlight in general is just extremely bright. All fires look like glowing orange looks like ..I have also noticed shadows of characters followinf characters a few seconds after the individal has moved...It's like the shadow has a life of it's own....

Ok if I do NOT have SLI engaged then the in game lighting and transparency problem is pretty much solved....but I don't see why the game should have a problem with SLI. Also again WHY is the game affecting my System Chassis lighting? When I get home tonight I will turn SLI back on and go in the game and take some snap shots.

Only thing that I could think of would be your PSU can't output enough power when running the game so the lights turn off..... but I'm by no means a tech guy so take that with a grain of salt.(Could also explain why you're having graphical glitches, if turning SLI off fixes the problem... not enough power going to the vid cards)

I see what you are saying ....but this has never happened before with The Witcher or any other game....so it leads me to believe that the problem is with the new patch.

read your video drivers release notes, the part about SLI and the part about VIsta + SLI ( if you have Vista )nVidia says it's a game problem, yet the fix can be made with nHancer: http://www.thewitcher.com/forum/index.php?topic=12848.msg393035#msg393035 ( there are more posts there talking about this )

What other details do you want me to post? I have given the details several times in this thread. This is a quote from my thread above : . First problem is when I launch the game the FX lighting on the chassis of my computer turns off....Then I start the game and just as the game finishes loading and i enter the game world the lights on the chassis come back on again but with a different color setting. Also the lights will change colors on the chassis when when I enter different areas of the game. ..When I close the game and I get back to the desktop the lighting reverts back to my original settings as soon as the desktop appears.

i don't know what are these FX lights, you've got something special there, so how are they working in general?or are you speaking about the POWER/HDD Activity lights?

I have a Dell 630i that has lights on the front and back of the system. I can control the colors using the nvidia control panel...The same panel you use to SLI on and off.....My system basically lights up like Christmas tree. I can't understand why the game is affecting these lights.

Well, Nhancer did fix my graphic problems while running my system in SLI mode.....but I still don't know what is causing the lights to off then come on and change colors from location to location. I think I will contact Atari and see if they can help on this one.
