Berengar’s return and the Ofir connection:
After leaving the North, Berengar travelled to Ofir, trying to leave his past behind and live as an ordinary man. He wanted to forget the life of a witcher, but fate had other plans.
During his journey, Berengar travelled with a group of people across the lands of Ofir. One night, they were attacked by a dangerous monster. The travellers had no chance against the beast, and Berengar was forced to make a choice.
Although he had tried to escape his old life, he could not watch innocent people die. He reached for the witcher dagger he had kept with him and fought the monster alone. His old instincts returned — the speed, the precision, and the training he thought he had abandoned.
After killing the creature, Berengar realized that he could never truly stop being a witcher. His past was not a curse — it was a part of him.
Later, Berengar met a witcher from the School of the Manticore in Ofir. The two became close friends, sharing stories about different witcher schools and forgotten traditions.
When Letho of Gulet returned from Nilfgaard after freeing the surviving witchers of the School of the Viper, he asked Geralt, Lambert, and the remaining Wolves for permission to rebuild the Viper School at Kaer Morhen.
When Berengar arrived at the fortress with his Manticore friend, he saw Letho and the freed Viper witchers gathered there. This meeting became the beginning of a new alliance between different witcher traditions.
Berengar understood that the future of witchers could not be built by one school alone. The old divisions had to end — the remaining witchers needed to stand together.
(After the battle against Azar Javed, Berengar was believed to have died while helping Geralt. In reality, he survived his wounds, but decided to let everyone believe that he was dead. Tired of his old life and wanting to leave the past behind, Berengar disappeared from the North and travelled to Ofir)
