Best Practices Post Update?

May be a silly question. My own concern after any update is that for every X fixes there will be Y new issues. While it shouldn't be necessary, do many if any people feel it's a good idea to Validate / Repair the game prior to starting it back up?

I never do. Post update working for for me.
