Best Rune (Fire or Ysgith)

What is the best rune in your opinion, Fire or Ysgith, which could be the same as asking do you prefer incinerate or bleed?

Incinerate, because people stop attacking you when they're on fire. Especially useful when fighting the Vran Guardian, he will stop casting spells at you so you can kill the gargoyles.

I use Ysgith the most. +7 damage is a nice deal considering you can put 3 runes total on some blades and its pure damage so its universal in a way.

I think i will try fire runes for silver blades and ysgith runes for steel blades. Sounds like a reasonable idea.

I generally use Ysgith because its Damage + 7% + 7% + 7% the accumulation really adds up.

More base damage > crit. in this game, in my experience. If you keep up with gear progression, you'll almost always be dealing enough damage to murder any mob in the game before the DoT effects can add up to more than a single base damage hit.

I used earth and moon/ysgith runes for my steel and silver swords respectively. Was about to reply, then decided to check the rune stats on the wiki first, now I realize why people go on about fire and ysgith runes. The equipment overhaul mod I use changed the effects of the runes. lol

More base damage > crit.

Only if you consider crit to be extra damage. DoT effects may not be high, but i think all the crit effects are useful otherwise. Slowed enemies are easier to attack because they don't block well. On fire enemies don't attack back, etc.

I loved stun + one hit. Made my hard build mostly around arden + crit then one shot. Unfortunately the stupid cut scenes got me killed more than a few times. >.

Before I installed CEO, I would usually have gone for something like 2 Fire + 1 Ysgith or 2 Fire + 1 Moon on a 3-rune sword. The only reason for not using 3 Fire is that I'd probably be running low on endrega saliva by late in the game. Fire runes are awesome.

Pureeeeeeee dmg is what counts most in this game. Ysgith rune all the way...U dont need magic when u have 200 base dmg and u kill bosses in 2 hits...
