They purposefully hit you with light comic relief right before they let loose on the heavy stuff while your guard is down. It worked exactly as planned, imho.

Comic relief? That quest was hardly humorous. It was just tedious and pointless and felt atmospherically totally out of place.

I thought it was kind of cheesy though it was nice to see some emotion from Geralt

Yes, comic relief. Do you even know what that means? This was a perfect example of it. The narcoleptic "sleepy", the guy falling to break his neck after he was saved. The fact that there were seven dwarves and our second protagonist was sleeping? That's comic relief and it worked great because it set the entire scene up for tragedy.

I love this game and everything, but for every great scene/character/plot point there are two that leave me scratching my head thinking, "but wait, that doesn't make sense." Video game writing is just shit. Only game I ever played where that wasn't the case was The Last of Us. And even then you had to ignore the fact that Joel should have been infected long ago by all the spores he must have been caked in. That and there was an enemy that literally threw spores at him (bloaters) making him hack and cough from it.

Meh, the Unity with Ciry is like be seein 1000 Times in a Blockbuster Movie. Reminds me of the Movie "Ghost, a letter from Sam.
Or some Fairy-Tales from the Brothers Grimm.
In a adult Witcher Game i found it strange that CDPR want people cry some Kiddy tears at that momant. It was too corny and predictable for me.
Or is it Part of the Books, so soap?

For me, the best scene was drinkin at Kaer Morhen with my 2 Witcher Fellows, and calling the Mages in Yen Clothes at the End, so funny...

Best scene for me is the epic battle at Kaer Morhen, everyone has a purpose for being there, and it's well staged. I wonder if Djikstra could be sent there or not because in my playthough he turned me down.

Having Vesemir as my companion and mentor in the game. Tagging a long w/ this old guy makes me care about him even on his death. Even the boss fight w/ Imlerith, like i really wanted to kill this guy due he killed the old man like what i did to Whoreson Jr. In most of the Wild Hunt general and including Eredin, Imlerith introduction is the best due he killed Vesemir.

Also the boss battle w/ Imlerith for me is the best boss fight in the game and how i kill him is quite satisfying.
Even though his move set is quite predictable but how Imlerith fights me in the shield like he is just taunting because he killed Vesemir and underestimating Geralt abilities. Then discarding his shield somewhat acknowledging Geralt's abilities and started teleporting really fast and force me to rely w/ dodge skill yes w/ the help of quen, yrrden, decoction and blizzard potion.

That battle looks like i've seen in movies. Geralt dancing as Imlerith swings his warhammer really fast and is quite amazing. The parrying animation and swing of the sword is amazing in that battle. Seriously use blizzard and yrrden in the fight like Geralt just avoiding Imlerith warhammer w/ a ease. Also played it on deathmatch. Battle is just amazing and epic.
