Hi everyone, I hope everyone is enjoying Cyberpunk in a pleasant way.
sorry in advance for my level of english it is not my language.

So, here is my concern, after each death in games I have a black screen, to have to restart the games and reload the save.
Unfortunately, that does not solve the problem I fall directly on a black screen with the music of the games, nothing else, I have uninstalled the games several times always the same problem afterwards
file verification.

Hi

I had the issue but it but it's fixed now.

1- update to Window 10 2H20
2- I had to remove a " Chinese dongle driver " that let you use your USB as a second HDMI ( for two monitors ) , the game working fine,
reinstalling the driver and the game still working,

so check if you have something installed that may cause this

What kind of game requires reformatting of one's drive to work? Is cdpr for real? You want the masses who are having issues to wipe their whole drive(some have like 8tb hdd) just for this game?

Hey Everyone,

So I had the same issues for days and it was so damn frustrating as I tried every single thing out there and nothing worked.

But Finaaaally I got it fixed today, and the only thing that worked is by using "Media Creation Tool 20H2" to upgrade my windows and once it's upgraded, then VOILA it worked and everything is going great.

I was trying to update my windows by checking for update, but It was showing that I have the last update, but when I used this app, it upgraded the windows to 20H2 version.

I have had this issue since Friday! I have tried everything that has been suggested here, I have also had friends try and help find a solution to this mess, however still nothing. I have only played an hour of the game so far and spent 6 hours trying to find a solution within the game settings, again no luck again!

Not only that I had requested for a refund also. which got knocked back due to "played the game more than seven hours". Getting the point now where even when it gets fixed I have lost the will to actually play it.

Important Update

Dear gamers, First of all, we would like to start by apologizing to you for not showing the game on base last-gen consoles before it premiered and, in consequence, not allowing you to make a more informed decision about your purchase. We should have paid more attention to making it play better...

I have the same issue and everything is up to date.
Clean installation to the latest version.

GTX970.

What other things I have installed are the Benq monitor driver and sotware, the Samsung SSD sotware and the Gigabyte AI which I have disabled completely.
I closed everything, stopped services, cleaned the startup list.
Tried all kinds of compatibility modes but nothing...

I tryed all the steps from your tecksupport:

Please try performing a clean reinstallation of the GPU drivers once again according to the instructions below:
  1. Please uninstall your graphics drivers using this application: http://www.guru3d.com/files-details/display-driver-uninstaller-download.html
  2. After the uninstallation will finish, please clean install the newest drivers. https://www.geforce.com/drivers
  3. When it's done, please double-restart the game, so that Nvidia can create your driver profile, which may improve stability and performance.
I advise you to not install GeForce Experience

Thank you for your reply.

If you haven't done it yet, please try verifying integrity of game cache:
1. Launch Steam client.
2. From the Library section, right-click on Cyberpunk 2077 and select Properties from the menu.
3. Select the "Local files" tab and click the "Verify integrity of game cache..." button.
4. Steam will verify the game's files - this process may take several minutes.

Please try reinstalling the REDlauncher:
  1. Uninstall the launcher like a regular program.
  2. Install it again from the game installation folder.
If this doesn't help, please uninstall the REDlauncher completely and let me know if that helped

1. If you have any applications that are using overlay features, e.g Discord, UPlay, Galaxy etc. disable their overlays or completely disable these applications.
2. Make sure that when playing the game you don't have any unnecessary applications running in the background.
3. If you have some overclocking on your hardware (CPU/GPU/RAM) reset it to stock values.
4. Try turning down your GPU Memory clock by 100 MHz and set GPU fan speed to 100% through MSI Afterburner and see if it helps.
5. Please disable your antivirus and firewall and see if it helps.

But im still just looking in to a dark void, at the startup.

The advice with the gog-uninstaller made it work for me 😀

I know it's been days since this thread was updated, but I've done all of this and am now running 1.06 and still have this issue. From all of the threads and it looks to be across multiple platforms that this is likely an issue with something in the game files. Any word from the devs?

One important tip !!!

It allowed me to eliminate the black screen!

In windows, by checking the current driver for the graphics card, the system shows you that the Best (but not the Latest) driver is installed.
Many users confuse this information and think they have the latest driver installed (like I did at the beginning).
All you have to do is look for the latest driver for the card on the manufacturer's website (in my case NVidia) and install it.
It helped me right away - the black screen disappeared and the game works OK!

Sorry people from CDPR, but your game is sucks.
When I start new game I hear all, I manually created new char and started a game. Played 5 min.
Got saves from friend (made on X-box), loaded and played few mins...
AND ALL THIS WITH DARK SCREEN.
Plus just for test installed mod to enable console. I see console in game... but not game itself.
So problem in game, not in my PC. Otherwise how it's possible that in-game console is visible, but game itself is not?
All other games from 2020 works without a question! But not Cyberpunk.

Test environment:
Fresh Win 10 Pro 20H2 with additionally installed all .NET 1.1-4.8 (about 10-15 versions just to be sure) and C++ (2005, 2008, 2010, 2012, 2013, 2015-2019) in x86 and x64
Ryzen 5 3600
RTX 2060 with just loaded game ready drivers 460.89 from NVIDIA site without Experience (IMHO all this "aaa, overlay is bad" = we sucks and formally have no idea what is the real problem)
16GB RAM
Samsung 960 ECO SSD 1Tb
Fresh game v.1.0.6 installation from GOG GALAXY

Hey guys,
I tried updating my gpu driver, updated windows to latest version, tried to change code with the hex editor but NOTHING worked.
WHAT WORKED:
Started the game but before loading a save game I swapped to windowed borderless, jumped in the game, swapped back to fullscreen - from then on I could load any file also in fullscreen.
As soon as I started the game again tho, I had to redo it but thats a little price to pay ;)
EDIT:
This only worked on the previous Windows Version (19 something) - on the 20H2...
