I hope I am not shanghaiing this thread:
Configuration:
Core i7 4820 @ 3.7 GHz (not overclocked)
16 GB DDR3 Memory
Nvidia GTX 980, Driver 352.86
Windows 7 Ultimate
Resolution: 1920x1200 (I have a 2560x1600 monitor, but for good frame rates I play Fullscreen in 1920x1200)
Neither GPU nor CPU are overheated, GPU goes up to 55 C, CPU stays well under 50.
With patch 1.02 and 1.03 I seldom have crashes, but all my crashes happen, when I am playing long (over 2 hours). All crashes happen only at a point where normal play stops and goes into a cutscene or one cutscene leads to another cutscene. My crashes are hangups, and normally I can start the task manager (CTRL+ALT+DEL) and kill the still running witcher3.exe process. After this I can restart normally (without booting the machine) load the last save, and all is well.
The last crash today was more nasty: Game minimized itself to the taskbar, and I received a message over a driver crash (driver restarted after crash). Since I had no mouse cursor I tried to call the task manager, but screen became black and I had to do a hard reboot.
I also think, that since 1.03 I have micro stuttering, but I am not sure.
But usually I can play for hours without problems. I report this only for information.
Also I have the feeling, that the new NVIDIA Gameready driver is not the best quality - owners of Kepler cards have problems. I am thinking to roll back, but on the other hand performance and stability is quite good compared to others. So the game may not be at fault, but the driver...
