I honestly don't believe this is what they would remove to gain some frames, there must be some other issue preventing it to work correctly on all human enemies and some monsters.I hope we get answers to this in Damiens FAQ.
Why would they remove blood decals other than for sake of game performance?
Oh yea. I was meant to say how disappointed if they really get rid of something like that.^Um, that's incredibly old footage.
But i thing it is not good idea. Bonfire appear from nowhere just like torch.I really hope that the bonfire while you meditating is still in the game.
Not only there is too much blood to be 'real' it is that the color is not right as well. It always bothers me in the cart scene with the griffin eating the horse, blood looks like shiny red paint, and not only there, a cutscene, when killing enemies it looks like somebody poured a bucked of red paint on enemies AND on GeraltFor me it isn't just about splatters showing up on the ground. They made it completely ridiculous and ovethetop now as well.
For example, on of the most stupid things they did was make it so that there is like a GALLON of blood when slicing a guy from a horse.

Before it was actually..plausible?: http://cdn.makeagif.com/media/4-29-2015/GD5H6C.gif
And why the hell does punching cause a massive amount of blood each punch?: http://makeagif.com/B_g6HR
Come on..its like they took all the blood that belongs on the ground, and invested it in over the top slasher game FX
Why would they take this out, are you sure it's gone?Look at the tons of blood splatter and decals in this video.:victory:

I'm pretty sure that's still in. I've seen it in some of the preview gamepaly vids. He's just fighting in water there, so it's more noticable, with the pools of blood from the splatters. Why would they take this out, are you sure it's gone?
Read the first post, it's not in the game, not anymore.I'm pretty sure that's still in. I've seen it in some of the preview gamepaly vids. He's just fighting in water there, so it's more noticable, with the pools of blood from the splatters.
I see what you meant, now. I thought you meant blood splatter in general, but you mean it's persistance on the ground(landing on the ground and staying there). Yeah, it doesn't do that anymore. Sucks tbh, it looked really cool. Maybe they could have toned it done a little bit . Because people were a bit too juicy, tbh lol. But sucks that they removed it completely. I wonder why.Read the first post, it's not in the game, not anymore.
I just saw a sneak peak of the PS4 version (this here: https://youtu.be/sUrn49eivZc?t=38s), there was no blood splatter after killing a human enemy, so it's safe to say they in fact REMOVED IT from the game just like Marcin said in this topic. Because no one will tell me that it's some unfinished build on a console 2 weeks before the release.
Great, just fckn great![]()
Why do you say they have 0 performance impact? Looking at Footprints or EBT (Enhanced Blood Textures) in Skyrim for example, they are tricky to get right, require cleanup to prevent save game bloat and increase the "weight" of scripting to install and mange them and (especially when done in higher res) can start having serious VRAM impacts. Now maybe CDPR's engine will be much better and avoid all these issues, but that's not obvious. Don;t get me wrong, I'd like to see these effects and many others in the game, but these things can have a serious performance impact and getting around the impact can take some seriously clever development work.Considering footprints - Geralt and the NPCs leave none, as far as I can see. Again, feature years old with zero performance impact. But, consider this guys - look closer at the videos when Geralt is using his witcher senses to track someone. Those red footprints. They are still there even without the witcher sense. Imagine yourself prancing around a village there and back again, and than traing to find something in the dust. Now I know the senses highlight only those you need, but since they are visible even without, I definitely wanna try playing using the withcer senses as little as possible. Maybe the last difficulty even doesn't have it, which would be cool, and the visible footprints/tracks in the dust would make more sense.
That should be a pretty quick fix for some moderately talented graphic artist to fix in a mod if the engine is correctly placing the decals themselves. Not only there is too much blood to be 'real' it is that the color is not right as well. It always bothers me in the cart scene with the griffin eating the horse, blood looks like shiny red paint, and not only there, a cutscene, when killing enemies it looks like somebody poured a bucked of red paint on enemies AND on Geralt
It always annoyed me the totally wrong blood stains in Geralt's sword in witcher 2, but now in witcher 3 that red color is everywhereGuys, blood is dark-red, not tomato-sauce-red
I hope that while playing I'll overlook this, but...
