Blue Fog / Dust overlay graphics bug

Hi, I am playing enhanced edition from gog.com. I'm just into the prologue, and have some weird graphics issue going on. I'm running an Alienware Alpha computer.

There is a weird fog or dust that I see when I play. I took a couple screenshots showing it, both during the cutscene as well as normal gameplay. When I'm at the Barricade level (going after the balista), it appears not as a blue fog, but as a whole log of "dust" making it difficult to see. Like fighting during a sandstorm.

Google searches seem to indicate that it might be my graphics card's 3D settings fighting with the application settings, but I don't believe I have changed anything. This occured both before and after running the GEForce experience "Optimize" function. LIkewise it appears both with and without the FCR2 mod. I downgraded the graphics to Low settings and it still occurs. Screenshots are at High settings.

I am almost certain that when I first started playing the game, I didn't have this issue. Not sure why it started suddenly a couple weeks ago. Please help. The game is not enjoyable when it looks like this. Youtube gameplay videos clearly shows that this is abnormal.

Are you running it on Linux (SteamOS)? There was somewhat similar issue reported before: http://forums.cdprojektred.com/threads/29958-Linux-issues-and-user-solutions?p=1302885&viewfull=1#post1302885

It was some Nvidia problem, and driver update fixed it.

Thanks - I'm on Windows 8.1 64-bit, so not SteamOS. I am pretty sure I'm up-to-date on Nvidia drivers but I'll check it when I get home tonight. Oh, and no similar issues on Skyrim, Tomb Raider, Arkham City or Brothers - Tale of Two Sons. Those are the only games I've played so far.

You can also report it to Nvidia. Since it's a custom GPU, there can be a bug in the driver. I wonder if the same bug is present on Linux on that GPU as well. I don't know anyone with Alienware Alpha / Steam Machine who could test it on Linux, not here on the forum at least.

I worked through the issue with CD Project Red Tech Support. In the end I turned off the Bloom in Witcher graphics settings, and started the game over again. This appears to have solved the problem.

Also recommending you try turning bloom off. It did some pretty weird things in TW2.
