I went to a university that had a fair number of blind students. When you talked with them, they would keep replying "I see... I see..." just to tease the sighted students.

Also, it's not unusual for an archer, especially an inexperienced one, to use an eyepatch. It prevents the mistake of aiming with the wrong eye. She may have two eyes in perfect working order, but doesn't want to use one right now.
