I get both sides of this argument here.
On the one hand, if it's available in the world and it's able to be put in the game I can understand wanting it included.
On the other hand, there are TV shows and products shown to us in Cyberpunk that we can never watch and never buy, which is honestly fine. I can't expect them to go through that much trouble. I think the major point of contention here is that they promised that BD would be a big part of the experience, sort of like how the Witcher series had that really popular card game. BD was supposed to be sort of like that.
So imagine if the Witcher series talked about this really cool card game everybody plays and is a huge part of the world and the story, but in game all you got was an item that said 'deck of cards' with no interactivity.
That is kind of what's irritating people most, I believe. Honestly, I have no personal interest in the BD or the sex scenes in this game. For me, it's just about the immersion itself, and the fact that there are so many breaks in it, some of which include the nudity or sexual parts of this game, is what is killing my enthusiasm to keep playing it. I'm not looking for porn. I can find porn. What I'm looking for is to not be ripped out of my immersive experience by hitting an invisible wall that shouldn't be there, literally or metaphorically. In this case, BD's having no functionality at all is one such invisible wall. Even if I had no interest in using it, knowing that it's no different than any other junk item in the game is kind of a downer because it shows where all the cracks in the scenery actually are.
I had a similar experience when I found a jar of hair dye on a character I looted. For a brief moment I was like, "Wait, can I use this to change the color of my hair?" no. It's just a junk item worth 3 bucks. Because of course it is.
