Brothers in arms: Nilfgaard

Why does Geralt refuse the help of Nilfgaard troops just because the emperor want Voorhis to lead them? I didn't even get an option to choose. He says sending troops is np. What does it matter to Geralt if General Voorhis leads them or not?

This is actually an interesting question. Any book readers have some answers?

Voorhis is not a book character.
But the entire Brothers in Arm subquest is disappointing. Not only that this part is handled without an explanation, but if you bring you allies to Kaer Morhen or not doesn't make any difference.

Yes.

The reason Geralt won't let Voorhis come is because he'll then try to take Ciri.

Emhyr sure is confident that he can send an entire 'banner' of Nilfgaardian soldiers to Kaer Morhen, which is in the part of Kaedwen occupied by Redania, without drawing a lot of attention.

i think entire idea of Nilfgardians protecting Kaer Morhen was wrong.. at the beginning Vesemir went back to mask mountain passes, to make sure they wont be able to find it, and here, they would invite Nilfgardian soldiers into Kaer Morhen?

Well its witcher fortress and they need only one leader to lead defence of Kaer Mohren either Vesemir or Geralt its their home after all, they dont need nilfgardian general to interfere in their plans, plus what he knows about Kaer Mohren he never been there, they only need soldiers whose only job is to kill Wild Hunt on sight, and maybe Geralt dont trust Emhyr why he want his general in Kaer Mohren so deeply and refuse to sent army without general even if his daughter life is on the line.

On the other hand it make more sense if nilfgard is not present in Kaer Morhen if you have all alies there considering their history with your friends it would be hard to explain them to work with nilfgard soldiers, we could have weird conversation with them, below are some things froom books
Look Zoltan i know you fought them in previous war and killed their general but we work together now , or if you took Iorveth path in W2, i know you lost your town because of nilfgard but we are allies now or
Try to explain Triss and Keira that we are friends now just forget you lost your king and court position because of them, and Triss i know you almost died on Sodden Hill but work with them now
If you saved Letho from nilfgard it would be wierd to bring them to Kaer Morhen or
Roche and Ves at that time are still enemies of nilfgard it would be hard to explain them to work together,
And how to convince Hjalmar to work with nilfgard even before you say something someone probably would end up dead.
It`s better not to have them there whatever are the reasons

I don't think that it has to do with letting Nilfgaardians into Kaer Morhen. Geralt would have been happy to take the banner without Voorhis, so it can't be that he is worried about Nilfgaardians coming to Kaer Morhen. I also don't really believe that it is a personal problem as Geralt's conversations with Voorhis have always been at least friendly or as friendly as Geralt can be when talking to a Nilfgaardian aristocrat that keeps making small talk. Also Voorhis seemed to have a good enough mind for strategy that he wouldn't be underfoot, so I see no reason why he should be a deal breaker. I was really annoyed at that non-choice, but I really like Voorhis and your mileage may vary.

I agree completely. It seemed extremely strange because he and Voorhis always seemed so cordial.

Exactly! I was actually expecting Geralt to be glad that Emhyr would send Voorhis, somebody in the army that Geralt at least knows and is on good terms with. I really would have liked to see the general in Kaer Morhen, especially as he was built up as a potential ally in the earlier part of the game. He keeps popping up on Novigrad missions and when you visit Vizima, shares some information with you and is generally portrayed as a pretty good guy. (friendly, moral compass, less stuffy than most Nilfgaardians, has a hobby that does not involve maiming people, has a vested interest in Ciri's well-being, might actually be a closet-romantic)
Maybe Emhyr should have just offered to send his chamberlain to disapprove the Wild Hunt into oblivion instead.

If Emhyr just give us Fringilla instead we could reach agreement, Geralt wouldn`t object

I always felt his "behaviour" is kind of artificial. I don't know ... I can't explain it. ^^
Imagining he could be Ciri's husband ... no I just don't want imagining this.

I understand what you mean, but I don't feel the same way. I think Voorhis would make a great husband for Ciri and an even better emperor. He most certainly would be a vast improvement over Emhyr.

The way I see Voorhis is basically the Nilfgaardian version of Siegfried. I love Siegfried and I love Voorhis.

But this is strange to me how Nilfgardian banner is supose to reach Kaer Morhen which is in Kedwen, area now controlled by Radovid, is it not much obvious choice to ask Radovid for help cuz he has army nearby
