I believe this is part of the issue. When a light is present on a table, nothing below its vertical plane casts a shadow, including the table itself. However, if the light is positioned on the floor, everything around it will cast a shadow. If you stand on top of the table, Geralt will also cast a shadow, but standing on the floor, below the light's vertical plane will not render a shadow. It's hard to get an image of Geralt not casting a shadow near the table, but the second image proves a shadow is cast above the floor.

Actually, the issue seems a bit more complex, and is rather hit and miss regarding which objects or light sources cast shadows.

Grass is missing until you walk 20 'steps' away, upon loading a saved game, but the issue is intermittent.
I've once had it reappear spontaneously within 5 seconds, without moving.
Actual spot walked to was 20 feet away, to the right, over some unremarkable bridge.
Included a second image with a related bug (Temerian Lilies key, near the bridge/windmill).

Be sure to remove all folders that you replaced when installing the mod (or best, make a clean install > uninstall the game with the launcher and remove manually everything remaining in tha game folder which was not removed by the launcher. Just keep saves).
I have reinstalled the game but still the issue remains.

Not sure if this effect is present elsewhere, but it's everywhere in White Orchard, regardless of graphical options.

Screen space reflections don't seem to change on low vs high, and AA sharpening is stuck on low or high.

Some clipping of fog over water is included in the 4th image, but it's not the greatest example as such.

Screen space reflections appear glitchy under bridges and docks, probably related to shadows, when the camera is rotated, but only at a distance.

Poor quality of cloth textures during dialogues. Maybe that’s not big problem but it broke game fun … enhanced edition looked much better. Problem exists in both graphic modes on Xbox series s.
Please fix it or give us possibility to download enhanced edition from Xbox market.

Edit: This seems related to vsync. Something's wrong with the rendering pipeline or buffers. Objects are several frames behind, or process a few frames, then pause. I've now observed this issue at 58-60 FPS, moving amongst trees, with no dynamic lights involved. All the trunks begin lagging for a few frames, then resume, lag, resume, etc... Disabling vsync resolved it. However, I would not recommend this, since it causes other issue and noticeable screen tearing, thus 'stutter' noticeable on hard edges and interiors.

When setting shadows to Ultra+ and foliage visibility to Ultra/Ultra+, scenes with dynamic lights in the near foreground seem to stutter a LOT more than they should.

FPS is still over 55, yet the visibile screen lag is much greater. A fine example is the crossroads with a shrine right after the last river before Crow's Perch.

While looking at Crow's Perch, from the other side of the shrine, near the wall with the candles, performance drops well below what is expected.

Reducing foliage visibility to High seems to eliminate the problem, although FPS only increase from 55-58. Other settings make no difference. Actually, turning off vsync also 'resolves' the issue, but that's less than ideal, major caveats and causes more 'stuttering' issues than it fixes.

When moving back a bit from the dynamic lights, the scene stops stuttering, with a minimal 2-3 FPS increase. RX 6600 XT, i7-11700k, 16GB, SSD.

Movement Delays in Witcher 3 Nextgen for PC.

Symptom: When turning the camera 180 degrees and trying to make Geralt move the camera often hitches and Geralt will not move for a noticeable time. Maybe not quite a full second but enough to notice and ruin immersion. This occurs very frequently and is easily repeatable. Users besides me are reporting this in a steam forum. https://steamcommunity.com/app/292030/discussions/0/3731826212313771663/
Ah yes, this!! Makes it sometimes unplayable and is very annoying.

Big popping issue with RT Shadows. When it's sunny it's really annoying, almost unplayable, having big shadows popping a few meters from Geralt completely kills the immersion.

I am use xbox one s. I entered the game after the update of the game.Health decreases by itself . I eat meal but not not increasing health.I'm meditating.Health Health is fulling but again decreases by itself .I tried another save point. there is no poison.I even died and came back to life. But but still the same

If you didn't, try to clear the cache.

I'm sorry, but I'm very angry. I'm almost done with the game. Spoiler alert. Ciri confronted the white cold, I told her father she died, and I end up in Belosad where I have to go to a crumbled fortress. If I approach it from any direction, the game crashes. And the story can't be finished. I'm one step away from finishing the game. Otherwise I have the same FPS crashes, texture not loading and bugs as most players. On top of that I got pathetic and ridiculous armor and swords from flower lover, made in china and Netflix parodies. Plus as a bonus the game has its luncher which is completely unnecessary. The update was great but I didn't see any big or quality changes to it.

New issue I think. The automatic saves on 'checkpoints' aren't overwriting anymore. Previously (X Box Series S, and X Box One back when) the checkpoints would only keep the last 4 or 5 in the list (whatever mission was "active" at the time). I've now literally got hundreds of checkpoint saves. To the point that it "filled" the hard drive (or at least the space on the hard drive that XBox allocated to Witcher 3 saves).

1. In Russian localization in the missions "The Battle of Kaer Morhen", "Bald Mountain" and "On Thin Ice" there is a problem with the filter on the voices of the Wild Hunt warriors when they take off their helmet.
2. In Russian localization in the missions "Payback" in the epilogue of the story of Dudu, instead of Russian voice acting, there is Chinese.

It's still crashing during the intro video following Yennefer. EVERY SINGLE TIME.
Currently the game is unplayable on my otherwise smoothly running machine.
Still trying and sending crash reports. Getting tired of it.
What I don't understand: There was no grand announcement and thus no time pressure to release this supposedly wonderful update. Why not test it more?

From what I read, most of players can play without crashes (with more or less good performances, but that's another story...).
If you played on a previous version of game with mods, be sure to remove all the mods (or at least check if they are compatible). Even by uninstalling the game, great chances that the mods folders/files are not removed and still there.
Then be sure that your drivers are up to date (maybe a clean install could help).
NVIDIA
I. Download the latest drivers using the following link: https://www.nvidia.com/Download/index.aspx?lang=en-us
II. Download Display Driver Uninstaller and run it to remove previous versions of drivers.
III. Clean install drivers that you've downloaded in step 1.
AMD
I. Uninstall your graphics drivers using the AMD Cleanup Utility software.
II. Download and clean install the latest drivers from here: https://www.amd.com/en/support
You can also try to verify the game files
And if it doesn't work, be sure to try all of these tips and send a ticket to the support for help ("Contact Us" button).

Your last save was created in 4.0 ?
I think only saves created in 4.0 can be shared (a save created on a previous version can't).
So load a save, save again (to create a new one in 4.0) and then, this save will be shared on the cloud (automatically).
The reason is network, saved then waiting for sarveral minutes,do not close the game . Thank you.

Not sure where this goes but I'm on my third try on the new quest In the eternal fire's shadow and I still haven't been able to get the diagrams as a reward. I've seen others report the same issue on other sites and I'm just at my wit's end at this point. I *really* want the armor! What do I do? Anyone who's solved this?
