Don't know if this has been mentioned. The quest Gwent, High Stakes won't start from the notice board, nor will it start if I read the paper in my inventory, same thing with the first map of the Ursine treasure quest.
 
Found runic upgrades - especially lesser igni ones - cannot be fused together to make a higher grade one.
This only applies to looted runes,as the ones you craft on your own can be used to make standard glyphs and greater ones.
Maybe they have different IDs?
Also,the guy that drops the documents to inflitrate whoreson Junior's arena spawned dead and I looted his corpse directly,nothing unusual happened then and the quest progressed normally and without issues.
Red mutagen drop rate is abysmally low compared to green and blue ones,they drop like candies from a smashed pinata actually and I don't think the player should be able to craft a full four greater set of these two types of mutagens in white orchard.
But then,sign intensity is bugged and doesn't scale properly with mutagens and equipments - Quen actually was stronger on my melee build Geralt,because of a meager bonus on a sword,instead of a 110% sign intensity Geralt.Also,the inability to cast signs subsequentially,something geralt could do in the first 2 games,greatly cripples any Signs gameplay (this is just my personal opinion,but I wanted to make clear that sign intensity doesn't actually increasesign potency,and with such game mechanics this makes for less useful talents and skills).
Also,the talent Fleet Footed for some reason doesn't work on griffins and on basilisks,while any other beast big or small cannot hurt a dodging geralt when five points have been spent on the talent.
Finally,lots of quest items do not get transferred on the consummables or miscellaneous tab after the quest they were needed for is completed,and the witcher gear maps stay permanently in inventory after you resolved the related scavenger hunt if they are bought again by mistake at any vendor in velen - and they do respawn,even faster than vendor gold.
 
I'm missing the druid alchemist merchant at Gedyneith. Not Gremist, the other one, in the cave higher up the hill. He was available before, but now for some reason he's disappeared on me and I can't access his goods anymore. This is kind of frustrating because I hadn't bought out all his diagrams yet and it appears nobody else sells the superior ones.

As you can see from the picture, the minimap shows him at his usual spot, but he's not there. Not just invisible either, there's no way to talk to him at all. It's daytime here, so he should be open for business, but even at night he doesn't appear sleeping in bed like he did before.

I'm not sure when exactly he disappeared, but I noticed it shortly after completing Cave of Dreams, Lord of Undvik, Possession and King's Gambit. Not sure if that's related.

Specs: Windows 7, System i7-2600K 3.40GHz, 8GB RAM, GeForce GTX 580.

I occasionally get a performance issue, especially in the big cities, where upon arriving in an area it takes a while to load all assets and so some objects, including characters and merchants, are initially invisible and inaccessible. However, in these cases they also don't appear on the minimap, and also quickly appear as soon as everything loads, so this is something different because this merchant doesn't appear no matter how long I wait. Can't figure out any way to make him show up again.

Doesn't look like he found a solution either.

Speaking of Cave of Dreams, it was tagged as failed during King's Gambit even after I'd completed it, seen a few people mention this bug. I also didn't get the achievement for the Shrieker contract for some reason despite it showing as completed in my quests. Those aren't really important issues though, this merchant bug is actually annoying.
 
one more thing : falling damaged should be changed entirely, I fear even leading geralt down the stairs.
He takes damage - a lot of - for ridiculous falls less than a meter high,even more so since I've personally fell from greater heights,and he's technically a trained warrior,acrobat and mutated human.
Unless he has crippled knees,this defies any logic.
EDIT : I forgot to mention that some innkeepers are not in their fine establishments,but an hour of meditation spawns them where they should.

I don't know if this had been mentioned before. But, when using a mouse & keyboard you can apply oils to your blades during combat. But, if you are using a controller. It doesn't allow you to do so. It says something along the lines of "you cannot do that while in combat"

I'm not sure which of these is the intended way. But it's obviously not consistent between the two.
 
Painted walls:

At first, when I say white houses I thought they looked a bit strange, but took it was an actual white house. Then I noticed that after looking away or entering a conversation walls changed color. And now this:

p.s. I change game video settings to low after seeing this to check if it had something to do with my configuration. I'm also using factory default configuration for CPU/GPU clock and default nvidia settings.

Inventory problem

Just noted when selling items to vendor in white orchard next to the pub that selling him items does not reduce the amount of weight you are carrying, I was carrying 61/60 sold 10 items of Dog Tallow weighing .40 each which should have reduced carry weight to 57/60 but when sold and exited store was still overburdened and could not run and still showed 61/60

I wont be playing the game again till everything is fixed, wont be buying the add on either until such time as CDPR has fixed the game mechanics and quest problems as I have already started things over 3 times.

Finding the bodyguard for Hattori in Swords and Dumplings secondary quest.

This is about the only 2ndary quest I haven't and can't finish in Novigrad due to the bug after the cutscene with the bodyguard from Skillege. The bodyguard disappears.

This problem has been present since 1.03.
 
texture glitches with 1920x1080 reso, some very clear others very splotchy.
skellige oceans look awful at times when waves dont properly form (sdometimes have to meditate an hour to make it work)
sirens will sometimes freeze mid air if countered air strike
the ghost wild hunt warriors in elven ruins wont disappear properly after being killed
ciri walk and run animations are bad
torch holding animations are bad
drowners will occasionally freeze mid air once slain
the sun glare color on the ocean never matches the sunset color, looks kind of off :/
certain mixtures of weather patterns make no sense.
the rain audio will play but no rain can be seen alot of the time
during the leshen quest in skellige after making the wolf heart sacrifice the weather and atmosphere bugged out and kept switching fast between cloudy and sunny.
it kind of bothers me that there is only one animation for getting into a boat that only happens when in water (what about when youre on land or on a dock?)
or when torches go out suddenly EVERY time you climb anything
sitting and standing from the helm of boats has a wonky animation where geralt will sit off to the side and grab the air then "pop" over to the center
when attacked by sirens in a boat one time my boat sank under water but wasnt destroyed, it created a "hole" in the ocean and i dove down and was able to sail the boat under water.
certain foggy weathers at sea look strange with distant land and boats
i still wish there were animations for sharpening your sword and hammering armor
also animations for sitting by a campfire or on a grassy hill to take on the view
although i appreciate the liveliness of towns theres really nothing to do there (immersion like things)
the animation for sheathing a wild hunt sword makes no sense (you grab the air and then the end of the blade)
some items have extremely low resolution even when on hd setting
horses in general behave strangely
there are two invisible un-passable walls in the middle of the road between three cats inn and carsten just after the bridge over the river (encountered on horseback)
textures have a real hard time switching to high resolution when up close, occasionally an npcs clothes or tattoos wont become visible with detail until you stand directly next to them

Are you sure you didn't sell 10 items of the 40 dog tallow you had, with a *total* weight of 0.4kg?

The weight shown isn't "per unit" but "total". So if you have 100 units of something that weighs 0.01 each, it will show as 100 (1.00). Not sure what dog tallow weighs but .40 is most likely how much 60 of them weigh, and if you sell something that is less than weight == 1, it may not show any decrement because the game keeps track of weight to 2 decimal places but only displays integer weight, so until you sell 1 unit it will appear as if you did not lose weight.
 
.40 of 1KG is 400 Grams selling 10 should be .40*10 = 4.0 move the decimal place one to the right .040 would be 40 grams .40 is 400 grams
If its the combined weight of all articles that's damned confusing.
I played on a bit further anyway not for playing sake but because I was bored and found another bug when Yennifer first opens a portal during the Imperial Audience quest if you walk towards the portal - the portal gets stuck and stays there.

Han fiber plants use the same model as arenaria,only the potted version shows the right plant,wild specimens use the wrong model instead.
Also any merchant and services icons only show while you're in the regiopn,not always on the world map.
 
I'm having a problem; when i try to load ANY save, be it auto or manual i get a pop up saying that this save requires the Beard and Hairstyles DLC (which i've downloaded and installed over 5 times in an attempt to fix the problem. Ive also reinstalled the game to no avail. Any help would be much appreciated

I don't suppose you're using the Steam version? I found this thread which suggests that you make sure the DLC is checked and that you run a file verification on the game. Let me know if that doesn't work and I'll see if I can dig up some other solutions.

This affects more than just Novigrad, have experienced it across Velen and White Orchard, too. Made a GIF of it in another thread. Mildly hilarious, but immersive-breaking.

Character's voice sound drop or no sound at all during this scene... it was working just fine before patch 1.03 came out I believe.

Please fix to make sure Color blind friendly to stay on when I exit the game and play again later. I kept going back to turn it on. I feel that color blind friendly make objects highlights better, see better and faster then original. Not all objects highlights right away when i'm near and far away.


Somebody already reported this problem. I thank you for that. :) That a only campfire im having problem with.


Please double check all Person in Distress because I got extra key drops from bandit's leader and now im stuck with extra "Cage" key in my Quest items tab (im not sure about Silver Monocle quest item it is suppose to be there for later use or not). Also, when i encounter Person in Distress, Scoia'teal is already out of his cage.

I dont think this is fair... lvl 9 Geralt vs lvl 18 Bilge Hag. I only gain 20 exp..Why fight so hard for little exp....


Books, Oils, Potions should not mix together.
How do i know what books i owned or already read?... I cant even see name of books, oils , potions when it come selling, buying, fighting and etc.


Please group Mutagen together of their own; 5%,7%,10%, Monsters' mutagen and etc. *it will make my selling easier and avoid selling it by accident.


I love the infinite amount of storage from Witcher 2....
Overburden... im a type of person who love to explore and collect everything from treasure crests and be prepare before i do secondary and main quests.
*an fun idea: Geralt should own a house somewhere and put away stuffs to storage to lighten up burden on horse. it will be nice if can hang up monster trophies up on the walls...


I cant tell if this is normal in Witcher world... I seriously want steal that guy's see through shirt!!! (Bug i encounter at Cunny of the Goose lake).


I encountered few floating bugs around the shoreline in Oxenfurt, rock, fire torch pole by a house, and treasure crest under the bridge.

When i was exploring and finding all treasure crest in Velen and outside of Novigrad city. i was not able to find all treasure crest or ... what is it im looking for that is treasure crest icon mark on the map in the witcher 3 guide book? crates, dead body, big or small treasure crest? I was able find 95% of treasure crest.

I just installed some drivers from NVIDIA - GeForce Game Ready Driver 353.06. Clean install, and reboot. And I did what garthand told me - launch the game, save in another slot, and exit the game. I also rebooted my PC just to be on the safe side. The game seems to be working fine now. Two hours in, and no crash.

I have a few for the list:

1) There's that abandoned area on the South east of White Orchard where the enemy doesn't show up for a lot of people
2) In the Caberet quest sometimes Rautlec's door is locked, which prevents completion of this quest and the following one.
3) Not sure if this is a bug, whether it will have repercussions, or just a display issues: upon lifting the curse from [Redacted] and completing whatever that quest was called, the quest Novigrad: Closed City has moved from Completed to Failed. At the end of that quest I had persuaded [Redacted] to stay with me, so I really hope this bug doesn't affect my relationship with him/her and their possible participation in the later game.

BUG PROBLEM : BARBER in claywich , when i save him , he is still missing and not in the CLAYWICH

One odd thing I noticed in the missing persons quest is that radomir was in the village saying his name is dervin now d e r v i n - before I had done the quest.

Not sure if the issue is only for me but,

Colorblind Friendly Witcher Senses Option doesnt save.
So everytime I restart the game I need to turn it on again.

Its really a hassle.

That is annoying, I'll make sure it gets listed.

Bugs I've found:

Quest/AI:
- Merchant locked in a cage near the bridge in Velen; the bandit leader disappear leaving you without key. Reloading the game seems to spawn him again.
- After the Bloody Baron put his castle on fire, when you get to fight with him the HUD goes away and you lose control of Geralt. Reloading seems to fix it.
- Your horse stops suddenly when trying to cross a bridge, even during a horse race.

Graphics:
- Some houses appear painted in white/greenish, but eventually after looking away, reloading the game or entering a conversation it goes back to plain wood color.
- Some small shadows, that seems related to SSAO, flashes blue/solid black throughout the game. Usually on the ground and walls, but sometimes on characters faces. See https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KSiUZ-DB-gM

Heroes' Pursuit horse race in skellige is bugged, won the 3 qualification races, but the main race is now bugged, no way to start it.
EDIT: Took a save back and it seems it's bugged only if you do the monster contract in Larvik before the race.

Quest breaking bug found in the "Practicum in Advanced Alchemy" quest. While playing the game normally and before triggering any quest, I encountered the distillery on Ard Skellige through random exploration, discovered the documents inside and the distilling equipment, etc. but it didn't seem to do anything so I left. Some hours later I triggered the aforementioned quest and one of the objectives was to go to the distillery and make alcohol.


I am in the distillery right now and the next quest entry is to "Use your Witcher senses to search the distillery for instructions on how to produce alcohol." The instructions are supposed to be in the elevated shack from what I can tell from the map, except they are not there because I already picked them up and read them a day before when I was randomly exploring. The game does not recognize the fact that I am already carrying these instructions and have already read them however and insists that I explore to find them - except the instructions are no longer there because I have them already.


Nonetheless I try to do what it says and it leads me to the hut. If I turn "show witcher senses on map" on in settings and hold the witcher sense button down a red magnifying glass icon shows up on the map right in front of me where I'm standing at a bedside table, except there is no red glow on anything to indicate I need to interact with it, and there is nothing there to interact with at all. I am already carrying the instructions in my inventory and have already read them. The game just is not recognizing this and I'm unable to proceed with the quest. I've tried following the instructions and they don't work presumably until the game registers that I actually have them.


So this quest is now broken for me and I can't proceed to gain advanced alchemy knowledge or whatever. That's no doubt going to hamper the gameplay from here on out until the issue gets fixed. :)


Attached is a screenshot showing the location the item in question is supposed to be as indicated by the witcher icon on the map, but nothing is there as I have it already. I'm just including one camera angle but I can assure you that the item isn't there on any side of the night stand shown in the image.

Hi..sorry my english its bad.. used Google Translate as help..

If I have 2x of the safe-conduct (passport(From Quest & Red Baron)). Quest for travel over the Pontar (to Nilfgaard), when i talk to the dodgy dealers, for a Passport. The Quest fails at any reply.

Nearby there is also the Bandit Camp with the Dealer in a Cage. The key for the Cage i have never found. Can't free the Dealer.
In another bandit camp I received 2 keys for the Cage with a Dealer. But can with the extra key not unlock the first Cage (next to Pontar).

Noticed that in the area where you begin there has been a battle, several of the corpses on the field including a couple of horse corpses and some on pikes show that you can loot them when viewed with witcher senses - however no loot icon comes up for you to loot the corpse no matter what you do.

After the 1.05 patch there is no longer a water hag guarding the treasure in the White Orchard swamp. These changes make me concerned about other unintended changes with new patches. If it is indeed unintended. I am sure that the hag was not killed by nearby wolves or bandits.

Running patch 1.06 TW3WH seems to be a LOT more stable, I have been playing for two hours and only had one crash and I don't think it was the games fault, no log can be provided as it was a complete lock up screen froze, 3 fingered salute wouldn't work and the sound locked into a buzz, this may still be a fault OR it might have been kicked off by adobe flash player wanting to perform an update, after the machine was restarted that was the first thing that happened.

Thought it best just to mention it in case someone else struck the same sort of crash though - Just in case.

O.K Oddity and unrealized up until now, when you free an area so people move back into it although it might be late at night the scene played of course shows people returning during the day and then magically when the scene stops its 8 o'clock odd am.

Yeah I definitely noticed that was odd, not sure if that's intentional or not.

Patch 1.06 did not fix the Vernon Roche bug where he doesn't talk to you during "Get Junior". Here's a video:

Mutagen bonuses still drops after fast travel or load. Cant craft some of greater runes from lesser that i found or bought - says i got 0.

At first, when I say white houses I thought they looked a bit strange, but took it was an actual white house. Then I noticed that after looking away or entering a conversation walls changed color. And now this:




p.s. I change game video settings to low after seeing this to check if it had something to do with my configuration. I'm also using factory default configuration for CPU/GPU clock and default nvidia settings.

Finding the bodyguard for Hattori in Swords and Dumplings secondary quest.

This is about the only 2ndary quest I haven't and can't finish in Novigrad due to the bug after the cutscene with the bodyguard from Skillege. The bodyguard disappears.

This problem has been present since 1.03.

Roach (the horse) does not consume stamina sometimes.

I know he's not supposed to use stamina while following a road, is he not using stamina while galloping in the wild?

texture glitches with 1920x1080 reso, some very clear others very splotchy.
skellige oceans look awful at times when waves dont properly form (sdometimes have to meditate an hour to make it work)
sirens will sometimes freeze mid air if countered air strike
the ghost wild hunt warriors in elven ruins wont disappear properly after being killed
ciri walk and run animations are bad
torch holding animations are bad
drowners will occasionally freeze mid air once slain
the sun glare color on the ocean never matches the sunset color, looks kind of off :/
certain mixtures of weather patterns make no sense.
the rain audio will play but no rain can be seen alot of the time
during the leshen quest in skellige after making the wolf heart sacrifice the weather and atmosphere bugged out and kept switching fast between cloudy and sunny.
it kind of bothers me that there is only one animation for getting into a boat that only happens when in water (what about when youre on land or on a dock?)
or when torches go out suddenly EVERY time you climb anything
sitting and standing from the helm of boats has a wonky animation where geralt will sit off to the side and grab the air then "pop" over to the center
when attacked by sirens in a boat one time my boat sank under water but wasnt destroyed, it created a "hole" in the ocean and i dove down and was able to sail the boat under water.
certain foggy weathers at sea look strange with distant land and boats
i still wish there were animations for sharpening your sword and hammering armor
also animations for sitting by a campfire or on a grassy hill to take on the view
although i appreciate the liveliness of towns theres really nothing to do there (immersion like things)
the animation for sheathing a wild hunt sword makes no sense (you grab the air and then the end of the blade)
some items have extremely low resolution even when on hd setting
horses in general behave strangely
there are two invisible un-passable walls in the middle of the road between three cats inn and carsten just after the bridge over the river (encountered on horseback)
textures have a real hard time switching to high resolution when up close, occasionally an npcs clothes or tattoos wont become visible with detail until you stand directly next to them

If its the combined weight of all articles that's damned confusing.
I played on a bit further anyway not for playing sake but because I was bored and found another bug when Yennifer first opens a portal during the Imperial Audience quest if you walk towards the portal - the portal gets stuck and stays there.

Han fiber plants use the same model as arenaria,only the potted version shows the right plant,wild specimens use the wrong model instead.
Also any merchant and services icons only show while you're in the regiopn,not always on the world map.

I never would have caught the plant bug, thanks! I've also noticed the map icon issue, I'm not sure if it's intentional or a bug but I'll definitely list it.
 
Bug on Scavenger Hunt: Bear School Gear. Buying and reading the map from the armorer in Oxenfurt does not award the quest as it should. Other threads online indicate the quest will be awarded if the map is read in Skellige, but nowhere else.
 
Quest: Novigrad Dreaming

I have buy the Burdock Questitem (and other Questitems too.. like Lizard) befor i get this Quest "Novigrad Dreaming".. now i want to kick Sarah out of the House, i have to select the Option 2 and use Burdock in the Oven.. i see the "E" Button, press the Key E, see the Burdock its drop in the Oven.. thats ALL.. cant incinerate the Burdock.

And Quest dont refresh.. so i stuck with the Novigrad Dreaming Quest by using Option 2.. Bad is the Game saves a control Point, old saves disappear.. if i use Quicksave too.. but my luck ist.. i save every time my Witcher 3 saves in a extra folder. So i can restore a saved Point befor.

The only Option thats working in Novigrad Dreaming ist option 1.. let Sarah stay in the House.

I know if i kick Sarah out.. i see Sarah later in another Quest.. but cant do this Path now.


I have experiment with old saves, have think if i sell the Questitem back to a Herbs Dealer.. than get the Quest.. select option 2, the Quest says.. get Burdock from Herbs Dealer.. and i can make a Workaround for the Bug... no chance.. i cant sell back a Questitem to any Dealer.

A Friend of mine, reporting me that he gets stuck with any Quest. he is in Novigrad.. now the Witcher Senses (see RED Items to interact) are not working..
He can see the Red Items... but not interact.. or can interact, but no audio or text from Geralt.. and no refresh from Quests.. This occours by him now, not only for Quest in Novigrad but for any Quest.. does not matter where..

So the Game its completly broken for him..

Hes using Patch 1.06 with Patch 1.05 he have no Problems.. the old Witcher saves are gone by him ... sad :hatsoff:

Audio Bug

I have had the following issue with the base install and has persisted through all the patches. (I have also installed the latest drivers for all devices on my PC)


  • Issue: Extreme Audio Stuttering.
  • Affected Scenarios: voice, effects & music in-game (this does not affect videos, loading screens or menus).
  • Current Patch Version Installed: V1.06

System Spec
:

  • CPU: Intel Core i7 3770
  • Mainboard: MSI Z77A-GD65 (MS-7751)
  • Memory: 12GB (DDR3 - 666.5 MHz)
  • GPU: Gigabyte NVidia GeForce GTX 670 (Memory: 2GB, Clocks: 324 MHz)
  • Audio: Onboard Sound card. - Chipset integrated by Realtek® ALC898

Hack Fix:

I googled to see if anyone else was faced with the same issues, and found that if you set the core affinity to use ONE core, instead of the default EIGHT cores my i7 has, on the witcher process - it will then take away the audio stutter.

This hack fix mentioned above is temporary, and requires me to follow those steps every time I run the game. Nevermind the fact that it seems like the game doesn't seem to handle multi core CPUs very well.

With changing the core affinity to 1 core, you can imagine the game performance drops. I don't feel a drastic drop on my machine but I have seen some youtube videos where the same fix was applied and the performance was unplayable.
