I heard somebody say it in a video I watched on youtube and I can't remember if it was iconic or not. I know that you can manually upgrade weapons as you level, but is there a type that automatically levels with you? Thanks for your time!
Weapons do not level without upgrading from the crafting. They will level a skill dedicated to their type. Rifles, pistols, shotguns ect each have their own passive skill that you can level up by using them.
So, OP, all of that being said, here's a little trick.
Say you happen to pick up a pistol that you really like. A blue one that you have crafting blueprint for. You level it a bunch of times as you progress, and all of a sudden the upgrade costs become prohibitive. Instead of upgrading again, just craft a new one.
