Can we please get a notification for when a non-started quest is negated?

Greetings all

First, I want to say that I am in complete astonishment at the talent and dedication of the game developers. Even after my 4th play through, I am continuously stunned by the production quality in this game. If video games had nobel prizes, everyone at CDPR would deserve one.

I'll try to make this criticism as constructive as I can.

The problem

I understand the value of having quests that can be failed or missed. What I don't understand is why the fail conditions be shrouded in mystery. So if character A had quests for me, but character B asked me to kill A, I can foresee that I will lose any quests from person A. If it isn't blindingly obvious, some warning would be welcome. I think you guys agree with this. I think it's why you guys added a message before isle of mists saying that some quests will no longer be available.

What I wish however, is that if a quest was never started but some thing was done to negate it, please tell us. Or at least give us an option that tells us that a quest we may or may not have known about has failed.

Here are two examples:
1) In novigraad there is a woman who asked me for help with drunk skelligers in a bar. I decided to ignore her for the time being. 1 hour later, when looking for dandelion, you meet a woman with general vorhees and go horse racing. This failed the bar quest. Why? In this case, the quest was active, so I got the message saying it failed. But if I didn't have it active, I would have never got the message.

2) The quest black pearl is triggered by Nidas in novigraad. Thing is, he disappears at some point. I don't know when, but I know that he does. I have two saves, four hours apart. In my current save, he isn't there, and in the previous one, he is there. Both these saves are exactly where they were in terms of the main quest. Some thing made him disappear, and I don't know what. In this case, I didn't have it active, but some thing, probably some thing as random as the above bar / horse racing scenario, negated the quest. However, since it was inactive, I got no message.

Proposed solution

I can understand why you wouldn't want to tell a player that a quest has been negated; it removes the element of discovering things for yourself. That is why I think that at a minimum, for fans who aren't on their first playthrough, or for those who are trying to be a completionist, get this option.
