If they expect to compete in the open world space that Beth is King of there better be housing. Buyable, decorable, and buildable.

They don't have to compete with Bethsoft. CDPR is already miles ahead... :p

I heavily disagree, I would go for renting a room at a tavern, and nothing more, it doesn't suit Geralt's personality and objective at all, he is in that land to find his loved ones, not to settle down, and besides, witchers do not settle down.

"You can also find work suited for a witcher in the cities. I think you will once settle down in a city, Geralt."
I'll rather drop dead, he thought. But he didn't say it out loud.

I elect that Geralt carries around with him a portable tent that looks like a cocoon, so he'd be safe.

I ment a place you can visit as often as you want, where you would find a bed to sleep in.. (if he does sleep, or can.. I don't know!? :(

Also someone mention here you could store things in the game...?

I think you have to die for that... :p

Then you can wake up on a magical island together with Triss.

You can go to taverns.
Also Geralt doesn't sleep - well, at least he doesn't NEED to sleep (that often). He meditates. You can do that everywhere.
You can store stuff at the Tavern and pick it up later (at least that's how it was in TW2).
Geralt sleeps (or meditates) wherever he is and whenever he feels the need to.
A true nomad.

That's actually an invention of the games.

Geralt sleeps quite normally in the books. ;)

Yeah, a nice vista from balcony and a jacuzzi

if you want to be a true witcher, than a fireplace in the woods, or tavern and brothels maybe is your safe house

Somewhere in the books it gives a great description of a Witcher's work being a paradox - the more he works, the less of a need there Is for Witchers. If Geralt settled down somewhere, he'd work till the city was safe and then he'd need to leave. Plus I can't ever picture him being a townsperson. For example (Yen reading his mind):

"A home?" asked Yennefer suddenly. "What home? Do you have a home? You want to build a home? Oh... I'm sorry. I shouldn't..."

He was quiet. He was angry with himself. As he had been thinking for her, he had accidentally allowed her to read a thought about herself.

"A pretty dream," said Yennefer, stroking him lightly on the shoulder. "A home. A house built with your own hands, and you and I in that house. You would keep horses and sheep, and I would have a little garden, cook food and card wool, which we would take to the market. With the pennies earned from selling the wool and various crops we would buy what we needed; let's say some copper cauldrons and an iron rake. Every now and then, Ciri would visit with her husband and three children, and Triss would occasionally look in, to stay for a few days. We'd grow old together, beautifully and with dignity. And should I ever get bored, you would play for me in the evening on your homemade bagpipes. Playing the bagpipes - as everyone knows - is the best remedy for depression."

So obviously, they both want a home, but also know it isn't possible. Now, I still need to figure out if Triss or Yen would be a better choice (so many decisions).

It's only suitable for him to live in whatever brothel is nearest to his current location.

Heh I'm sure Yennefer will have a very different opinion on the matter.
