Can't change small animal settings

I noticed that when I load a saved game, the small animals settings in the advanced video options reverts back to 'many' even though I changed it to 'few' and pressing Accept before I saved. I even get the message 'settings saved'. I am using the 1.2 patch. Was hoping to get a few more fps by adjusting it, and all those critters are just annoying...

Same problem here (v1.2), each time i launch the game i have to reset it to "few" whereas all other values are kept...

Add me to that list .. most annoying when you are running a low end setup and things like that matter.
