Can't enter the Trade Quarter

I woke in Triss' bed at the start of the new chapter. After talking to her, I went downstairs to leave the house. When I clicked on the doors they simply opened, but I wasn't transported outside. I tried to teleport with the mirror. That worked! Sadly, when I try to enter the Trade Quarter from the Temple Quarter or the Cemetery I end up back at Triss' house.

I've tried reloading, restarting the chapter and reinstalling the game.

P.S. I play the steam version.

Register your steam license with GOG and get the GOG "backup" version for free.

You might need to backtrack to an earlier save if that one is corrupted. At worst restart the game if you have none... though you *should* have lots of saves to pick from.
Never seen this fault myself though - I was running the latest version and FCR1.6a though I don't recall any mention of this fault being one of the many fixes/changes made in either the official patch nor the mod.

(Mods require a full-restart, you shouldn't be changing what mods are running during a play-through, and some may even require a re-install to complete removing them).

Thanks for your help, but I have to questions.

1) What is the backup version? I can't figure out how to register my game with GOG.
2) How will I know which savegames are corrupted? I already backtracked from just before the battle against Javed and the Proffessor.

No. Pure vanilla steam version. I've played through it three or four times before without any major trouble.

Must be a problem specific to your system/setup. All I did was restart the chapter.

As a side note, I used an extra Swallow potion in the Javed fight, hope you don't mind. Anyway, hope you enjoy the rest of the game!

Does that mean that if I wanted to play the game again I would have to let someone else battle Javed for me on their computer? Not that it matters. This will probably be my final play through.

I've no idea. But if you do decide to go for another playthrough, at least we now know the solution
