Can't find key from cage in Velen

Can't find key from cage in Velen

in Velen+Novigrad area, here a location screenshot (right where player marker is)


in other similar cases one of enemies in area has a key - no such thing here. I searched every meter of location, every corpse - nothing. Gone for a few real time hours to another place, to wait for enemy respawn - still nothing. Am i missing something?

Yup same here. When i first found that area there were bandits all over the place, but i had to run away when cuz they way above my level at the time (i was 4). When i returned at a later time they were gone and only the merchant trapped in a cage remained lol. Guessing a key was suppose to drop off the bandit boss. :/

Same here.

When I returned at some point the merchant was gone. Some time later he was back in the cage again.
