Cant get out the water - sea/river

So When I took a dive in the water I was like cool I can swim.
But there is no way of getting out.

There are ladder posts but you cannot action anything to climb back on them.

This is odd.

Have you tried swimming on land yet? I've done that a few times. Can fix it by jumping though.
