Can't Install - please help

I tried to install game from CD and encountered the error where the CD can't be read properly. So followed advice and copied files from CD's onto folders on HDD. Now when I try to run Setup from either the CD or the HDD I get the error message:

"The Witcher 2 - InstallShield Wizard

An error (-5001 : 0xffffec75) has occured while running the setup

Please make sure you have finished any previous setup and closed other applications.... etc."

I have tried to remove InstallShield but can't work out how to do this.

Please help as I'd really like to play this game - I loved the first one.

OK, first:
If you are running Vista/Seven run the setup as administrator: http://bit.ly/r9obav.

Don't uninstall ShieldWizard. (How? The installer is in the game)

TW2 is on the DVD disk, not CD.

When I said CD I meant DVD - it has installed (but obviously not properly - I got the error message saying file does not match .cab file)

I have now got past this problem and hit the next one - it activates and then patches but then states can't open Pack0.dzip and enters a continuous loop re this.

Now going to install on another machine and copy .dzip files over - lets see if that works.

Any more advice would be welcome. Wish I'd bought the digital download version now !

Hooray - finally got it to work and it looks good

The problem is - if your DVD player cant properly read the discs then your wasting your time with your own DVD player.

I installed game on my PC but had to "ignore" the error message to get it on the PC. It does not work but at least the Witcher 2 folder was showing with the files.

I then installed the game on my daughter's laptop (worked 1st time) - did not activate - copied the files in the Witcher 2 folder onto an external HDD (you could use a USB stick if big enough - need 16GB) and then copied files from external HDD into Witcher 2 folder on my PC (over written corrupt files).

It worked

This has now took me 4 hours to get to work - hope it's worth it !
