Hey all
1. Bought a brand new gaming laptop! Hurray
2. Installed Steam
3. Installed The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt - Complete Edition
4. Press the Green Button "Play"
5. Launches REDlauncher
6. REDlauncher says at the bottom my GPU is out of date and links to an Intel website. I don't use Intel, I use Nvidia. I ignore the message.
7. I press the Red Button "Play"
8. REDlauncher closes itself
9. Steam goes from "Running" back to "Green Button Play"
Okay, I'm a man of an adventure, I Google and find a Technical Support Thread, I wisely follow religiously what they write there.
1. I install DDU (never heard of that before, but hey, nothing that can stop me now!)
2. I properly uninstall my Nvidia Drivers
3. I rebooted automatically and luckily the Integrated Intel GPU was working
4. Googled "Install Nvidia Drivers" (Had no idea how to do that, never done it before)
5. Installed the Nvidia App (which is a new thing apparently?)
6. Installed the latest Nvidia Drivers for my GPU (Nvidia GeForce RTX 4060, version: 32.0.15.7680)
7. I uninstalled the 5 different C++ Redistributables which my laptop had
8. Installed the latest C++ Redistributable in x86 (for the Tech Savy people, it's version: 14.44.35208.0)
9. Opened the guide for a Clean Boot launch (worked my way through all of that)
10. Restarted in Clean Boot
11. Made sure all other programs were closed, no overlays either
12. Launched Steam, got an Error! That a "Service" was missing. Presumably because I disabled all services part of the Clean Boot guide, enabled it again
13. Steam launched! Success
14. Pressed "Green Button Play"
15. Sadness. Depression. The Darkness. The Void. (same process as described prior)
Okay, I'm a man of an adventure on an EPIC QUEST, so I decide to submit a support ticket on the aforementioned Technical Support website/guide.
1. I fill in all the information
2. Fill in my e-mail
3. Write a short description
4. Make a DxDiag (Never done this too, what an exciting day of new stuff that I'm doing!)
5. Uploaded the DxDiag
6. Pressed on Images with Bridges (The I am NOT a Robot thingy)
7. Pressed "Submit"
8. Oh no! Inside the "Red Submit Button" I see a brief loading icon (circular) and it stops. Nothing happens, same page.
Okay, I'm a man of an adventure on a LEGENDARY QUEST, so I decide to Google this "Submit" button issue. Which brought me here! Some other user had this issue too.
1. I install 2 new browsers. Edge & Safari (I am a Chrome user)
2. I open the Tech Support link in those 2 browsers
3. I run through the same process in each browser
4. To no avail
5. Sadness. Depression. the Darkness. The Void.
Okay, I'm getting a bit frustrated here. You know, I never could play Next Gen TW3 on my old rig, cuz the Hardware couldn't handle it. New gaming rig! Excited to see the visual impressiveness on the grand scale. If that's your expectation, this entire afternoon turned out quite differently.
However, I am a man of solution. Now on ARTIFACT QUEST. I log in and make a forum post. In the mere hope that I can play this game on my brand new gaming laptop.
Is there anyone able to help me with this ARTIFACT QUEST? Many thanks!
For the Tech Savy people, I'll include the DxDiag and the links I've used for the process written above.
