I see what you mean about the game guide though - I just went and had a look. I'm 99% sure that the guide's wrong, unless someone comes along later and swears that they've opened the box.
The guide also mentions finding "white gull" in the box. This doesn't exist in TW2.

You don't get your swords back until VERY late in the Prologue, and you'll get them automatically. During the prologue itself, use other weapons that you find lying around. In the immediate area, as soon as you leave the cell, you should find a blackjack. You'll find it a very effective weapon against most of the enemies in the dungeon. There are other similar weapons available as you go through

one would determine the game guide was written for a previous build of the game and latter on the dev team changed a few things for balance or story telling reasons.
Sneaking around and knocking out guards is way better, u don't even the need to draw the additional weapon (Black jack). You just need to put out the torches and sneak behind enemy guards then right click to take 'em out...
