Can't start NG+

Hi,

I know that you should load an old save and wait for the message to pop up and all that. The thing is, I don't get the message at all. I've finished the game but didn't unlock the "Passed the Trial" achievement for some reason. Maybe that's the problem?

I tried to load an even older save before the end-credits and "complete" the game once again. It didn't help.

I play on GOG with patch 1.08.2.

Any suggestions?

It sounds like you didn't download NG+ DLC

Hi Billy,

I did "verify" the game which (I think) forces GOG to search for the latest update. According to GOG, the game is up to date...

I dont beleive verifying in Galaxy will download the DLCs, you need to tick it on the 'Confgure' page and let it install:

INSTALLING THE FREE CONTENT:Here is how you can grab and install your new DLC in The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. Add the 16 FREE DLC Program to your account from its product page. It's like buying a game, but free.A) If you're using GOG Galaxy:
--Select The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt from the sidebar to open its game page.
--Click on the drop-down labeled "More", (located next to the PLAY button) and choose "Configure".
--The Configure page will feature all available DLCs listed towards the bottom.
--Select each DLC that you want to install, and GOG Galaxy will do the rest. If you want to remove the DLC from your game, simply uncheck the selection box.

I just beat the game on Death March, with the ending of Ciri riding off to be a queen, after the credits in Kaer Morhen I made a save. Strangely, the Death March achievement didn't pop, I have never changed the difficulty, and when I go to try to change it gives me a warning which confirms I've not changed the diffculty. Anyways, tried to start a new game+ and it say's my file doesn't have a completed game and to go back and finish. I don't know what to do. I only have a handful of quest and they are all just tiny side-ones. I'm really confused and have no clue what step I should take next. Can someone please help me? Do I literally need to do every side mission and treasure hunt or something?

Thanks ahead of time if your reading this and help me fix this issue. I don't really care about the chievo's, but I would like to play again with all my bad ass armor and weapons.

first, check if you have the latest version (1.08.3) and the NG+ DLC installed (else it won't work).
1.08 doesn't do...it has to be 1.08.3.
Then load your save and save it again.
If it's not saved with the version 1.08.3, it won't recognise the "completed" status.

I just checked and it say's 1.08 not 1.08.3 on the splash screen. Is there another place I can check it? And I'm not sure why it wouldn't be the most up to date as it's self-updated every single time on Steam. I do have the DLC installed, and it does give me the choice in starting a new game+, it's just that my save, for whatever reason is not "finished" according to the game. Is their more to do after Ciri has left White Orchard(to be queen)? I thought that was the end.

BuildID: 739937. Not sure if that helps.

edit: just verified the integrity and it's now downloading a 1.4gb update I assume. Hopefully that fixes the problem. I'll report back when I know more. I appreciate you helping me.

Yeah, it'd be a good habit for me to get into. I've got 245 hours with this game. I wonder where I'll be when I finish this new game+. This one of my most favorite games of all time. CDPR really nailed it.

I would like to make a continuation to this thread as I can't use NG+ with my Witcher 3 save. I recently completed the game but like WalTerroritory and jacksk3llington, I also didn't get the achievement for completing the game in Death March difficulty (this is the second playthrough for me). I have installed Witcher 3 via GOG galaxy and have downloaded the "New Game +" DLC. The game is also patched to 1.08.3 and I tried verifying the installation, both of which didn't work.

Any suggestions ?
