Right there with you mate. I am online and everything. I even did the ol' alt-tab and opened the launcher and saw the lightening bolt meaning, so I was indeed connected. I'll keep toying around with it and let you know if I find anything.

After peeking at the manual (not sure why I didn't try this ages ago) I learned you had to login to the forums through the Witcher 2 launcher. However, after doing so I still get that bloody connection error. Hmmm....
i have also same issue regarding this... but hey i m downloading some movies from torrents site... so side by side i can play witcher2 game arena mode and able to upload arena score... when u move to play game i dnt know somehow the internet connection reset and ihve to login again...but i could not able to upload score....may this be uesfull

Which patch(s) are you running ? If it`s the 3.2 hotfix patch then that patch will not let you upload your Arena score at all . The regular 3.2 should be ok for this .
There was a problem way back when people had trouble uploading scores . For some a simple 6 digit password was all it took to be able to upload scores.
For others they needed to have the register exe open first and logged in then play Arena until the inevitable happened . Then the score would upload automatically . Also make sure that your firewalls have the appropriate permissions for the launcher exe and register exe .
Well, as of patch 3.2 (downloaded via the link posted here, not the patcher because that's never worked for me), I can upload my arena score again.
Now I just need to get up off my ass and get a good run in so I don't have this embarassing sub-10K score next to my posts anymore. *cough*

I think you nailed it -- at least in my case. I attempted to register my copy of The Witcher 2 just for the heck of it. First I created my forum account and then input the relevant credentials in the registration dialog locally. (I chose the option to login to an existing account).
After repeated "incorrect username or password" errors, I figured out the problem: the password either exceeded the maximum length or contained non-alphanumeric characters. I didn't test further to determine which was the case, though I suspect the latter.
Though the inability to upload arena scores hardly qualifies as a major loss of functionality in my opinion, it might relieve a lot of confusion to note the limitation somewhere with more visibility -- perhaps a forum sticky or the technical troubleshooting FAQ.
FWIW, the version of TW2 I'm running was purchased and downloaded from GOG fairly recently, so it should be fully up to date.
