Can't use signs on end bosses?

Hi everyone, I just finished my first run through of The Witcher, absolutely loved it, didn't want it to end to be honest, stockpiling potions till the very end!

During the Koshchey, Javed and Zeugl fights a very, VERY annoying trend started appearing. After I was hit a few times (with the Zeugl's head not the tentacles) I'm unable to use any signs for the rest of the battle, there's no response to trying to use them just a change in stance as if I don't have enough endurance. I don't remember now but I think Geralt had to go through the pain/bleed effect for this to happen but I can't say for certain. Maybe I've just never noticed not being able to use signs after get stumbled. x)

Mainly to itch my curiousity but to hopefully save a couple of reloads when I replay, is there a fix for this? Or if it's intended for these fights, maybe a mod to get around it?

Incidentally he fights that Javed for about 2 hours and it happens plenty of times, with humorous results. xD

It happened again without being blinded or bleeding so it's not that. Just getting hit a couple times seems to trigger it.

Never has this happen on my plays . Things you might want to look for if you decide to do a reload .
See if your stamina bar has enough charge for signs . Also make sure that the sign you want is highlighted and not being deactivated .

Yeah all of the conditions are fine.

Like in the videos, Geralt just suddenly is unable to use any spells for the rest of the battle. I remember fixing it one time however by taking a healing potion. I have a feeling any potion would work and restore the ability. Guess having a potion resets something and gets around the bug.
