Card problem: Tourney Joust vs Yghern

During one game, I used tourney joust on yghern and nothing happened. However, to my understanding, tourney joust will remove yghern's armor, then yghern should destroy itself.
Anyone knows why nothing happened? I'm really confused. Thanks.

It removes SHIELD, which is a status marked with this orangish circle. It has nothing to do with armor.

So you are right, tourney joust should remove 4 points of armor

Shield blocks 1 time any incoming attack whereas armor adds the armor value as a defense. Some cards ignore armor and deal damage straight to the strength of the card. Tourney joust removes the shield, then deals 4 damage.
