They said it in a polish interview a while back, that they would spend 30 million PLN on TW 2 or 7.5 million euro. I tried to find the link and i couldn't but those were the numbers, i remember very correct. It might be a little more than 8 million dollars though.Edk said:source?Edk said:With an 8 million dollar budget (the budget that is TW2)
And look at how Rockstar is treating the PC crowd. A bad port of GTA 4, no Red Dead Redemption or L.A Noire. Red Dead I had to play on a friends xbox..and L.A Noire i will suffer once again because it looks really good. But damn you Rockstar!slimgrin said:8 million eh?That's paltry. Wasn't GTA4 like 100 million?
An awesome response from an awesome person.Zax19 said:Please don't feed the troll.
I think people make too many assumptions. Just because a developer makes a game for a console does not mean they automatically have to lose all quality and start making generic and crappy games. It's always up to a developer whether they are going to go for quick releases and more money (by sacrificing quality) or not sacrificing quality and spending enough time to do it right. It doesn't matter what platform a developer makes a game for. Assuming that they must do something based upon what other companies choose to do is absurd.Seeing as how CDPR made a PC game first, and not simultaneously with console versions, tells me that they do care about quality and taking the time to do it right.n4meless1 said:And why it's not fair for us to experience all those console exclusive games (not that there are many of them which are good)? I agree that it's not to us to decide anything, but being supportive of the port is very strange! That only means less time for us, and for the sequel! And, we all know what happened to all those PC developers who's gone to consoles..
Since CD Projekt is now a public company they had to tell their stockholders how their business works. So Witcher 1 cost them 27milion PLN and they made 32 milion PLN ( they sold over 1.5 m copies ). Profit - 5 milion PLNWitcher 2 costs ~30-35 milion PLN ( earlier it was 30 milion but lately it was said that it's over 30 milion ) and their expectations are to make 108 milion PLN. Profit - 75 milion PLNIf they make it, then they will have cash to pay their debts and start working on next games and hire more people to developement team. If not then they will have problems.Dweller123 said:They said it in a polish interview a while back, that they would spend 30 million PLN on TW 2 or 7.5 million euro. No, no.The Profit from the witcher was 32 million PLN.As in, minus the cost for the game.Chimpo said:Since CD Projekt is now a public company they had to tell their stockholders how their business works. So Witcher 1 cost them 27milion PLN and they made 32 milion PLN ( they sold over 1.5 m copies ). Truly. I am playing it again as a mage(it plays different than as a warrior, let me tell you)and I am gritting my teeth when I stumble on the bad plot items. They make me angry.Chauntea said:Nice joke about DA2 being excellent RPG. Had a good laugh![]()
I've finished the first playthrough as a Rogue in Hard difficulty. Playing the second playthrough as a Mage but most dialogue is only just ESC, ESC, ESC and choose the best choice which gives (RIVALRY/FRIENDSHIP).TW/TW2 is a tricky game.. You won't know the outcome of what choices you made until couple hours later which is a good thing to deter me from reloading.. and also replayability. My opinion: Rogue=Single DPS monster, Mage=Crowd Controller and AOE monster. Haven't tried warrior myself but i dislike the Warrior Champion outfit. I like the Mage/Rogue better.JuanCdePaz said:Truly. If your gonna play a Warrior definitely play Vanguard/Beserker. So much fun and by the end game your pretty much unstoppable. That's the best thing about the Witcher. The consequences of your actions don't happen immediately so it does add a lot to the replay value because you can't simple choose something and if you don't like it you reload. No you choose an action/dialogue and you stick with your decision. As for this game coming to consoles. Well I'm already getting it for PC but if it came to consoles at least my friends would be able to play it. None of them play on PC..mind you I'm only 19 so my generation is all about shooters unfortunately. I have some friends who plan on tying me down so they can play Witcher 2 on my computer. They are excited for the game but won't be able to play it fully. At least on a console more people can play an excellent franchise and CDProjekt makes more money (hopefully) because I would definitely buy a Witcher 3 or DLC from them.archaven said:I've finished the first playthrough as a Rogue in Hard difficulty. True, even BF3 developers are confirming thatezjohny said:This is a proven fact the console version is whats holding the PC back from it's full potential!!! If the console developers would get off there butt's and make an up to date console that runs like the PC then thing would be different with how video game are developed! There's an artical in the GameInformer, the founder of Cry Tek "Cevat Yerli" talks about how PC is getting put to the side!
