Well, I just went to youtube to sample a few vids of him.. still obnoxious.theFixer said:But you're referring to the only video you saw, the rant about YouTube.
Yes, I did say I don't see the usefulness of a review of any subjective matter. You said that you don't see the usefulness in "reviewers", did you not?
You make a good point.frynse said:I think that he, and everyone else who has made a living off youtube, should've been prepared for this. It shouldn't come as a surprise that something like this was bound to happen sooner or later, especially when we're talking about youtube. Making money off something as fragile as that, that could change at any moment - which it did - with no plan B and then be shocked when it all comes crumbling down?
Can't say I feel too sorry for him.
I am curious..... How old are you? Where do you live?and what do you do for a living?SystemShock7 said:You make a good point.
I will also add, regarding youtube and who's at fault here (if anyone really is at fault)l I am not drawing any conclusions based on whatever this guy says or that guy blogs, without knowing all of the facts.
I'm seriously start to think that I have close to zero capability of making people understand what I write, or even see it. I think I'll just stop.SystemShock7 said:Well, I just went to youtube to sample a few vids of him.. still obnoxious.

This is what needs to happen because the right to creative content is under attack from the corporate douchebags who can apparently run roughshod over any fucking law they please. Fuck them. People need to understand how important it is to have creative content on the internet regulated in a fashion that's fair for the publisher, creator and purchaser. It wouldn't be hard if it weren't for all the meddling from companies like Google. They want to block access to stuff like this, but they also want everything save your DNA to whore out to companies for advertising. Jesus this shit pisses me off...gregski said:I hope game developers create some kind of coalition to help those guys fight Google. It's in their very interest.
Perhaps Warner Bros and other companies were threatening YT with law suits if they won’t do something about copy righted content being copied all over website and used without their permission, a lot of movies and music videos are being posted on YT. It's easy download video and just posted on your own channel. Publishers are saying they didn't ask for it.. yea sure.dragonbird said:Google's mission statement appears to be "If it ain't broke, break it". They've managed to take something that was working fine, and change it so that NOBODY wins.
Yes, that's why nobody could have predicted it. Unless some major shit-storm from somebody high and mighty was about to hit, and Google simply covered its ass ASAP, this action does not make any frigging sense.dragonbird said:Google's mission statement appears to be "If it ain't broke, break it". Actually no,dragonbird said:They've managed to take something that was working fine, and change it so that NOBODY wins.
My initial reaction was also that this was due to the media companies, but looking into the details, it appears to be entirely down to Google. The media companies are responsible for the fact that monsters like the content system exist, but the decision to suddenly start this particular campaign seems to have come entirely from Google.Saoe said:Perhaps Warner Bros and other companies were threatening YT with law suits if they won’t do something about copy righted content being copied all over website and used without their permission, a lot of movies and music videos are being posted on YT. Csszr said:Definitely don't think it was publisher pushed, not when Activision/Blizzard, Ubisoft, Deep Silver, and Capcom are attempting to push Google back. I still don't get it, YouTube personalities get to make money, publishers/developers get a little bit of advertisement, and YouTube gets money from the ads placed. And someone correct me if I'm wrong but isn't the top 20 most subscribed and watched channels mainly video game related? Angry Joe, Roosterteeth, Totalbiscuit, Pukie Pie?
Why?GeraltTheRiv said:I am curious..... How old are you? Where do you live?and what do you do for a living?
This is true, I miss the days of logging on without being hounded about G+. It'd be nice to access my subscriptions aside from the mobile app.AserPik said:It seems so logical but then you realise who runs the whole thing :/

Did you even read my post? The point is that disagreeing with someone doesn't give you the right to call that said person an idiot. Like I said, THERE ARE VIDEOS OF HIS THAT I ALSO DISAGREE WITH but that doesn't mean that I think he's an idiot. I don't get how you align that with "infatuation".SystemShock7 said:Either you are Angry Joe, or you have some sort of infatuation with him lol.
Never heard of the guy before - then again, I rarely go to youtube or anything Google... but based on the posted video, dude is very obnoxious.
As a general comment, I don't see the interest in the "critic" or the "expert", or even the mere "reviewer". In matters of taste, or any subjective matter, I prefer to try stuff for myself and form my own empirical opinion.
Nope it's still an opinion. If there are things that you thought were flawed, that doesn't mean that it's a fact.Ancient76 said:Limited awareness!
What i'm talking about are facts, not opinion. If a game has big design flaws - that's a FACT! And reviewers should talk about facts, what is good and what is bad, no matter how much the same reviewer like that game. Ok!
That's called honest reviewing.
