This is fantastic news!

Heartfelt thanks to the folks at CD Projekt who have been working hard to make this possible!

I got to participate in the Skyrim Creation Kit beta and I've had a chance to learn how to make some simple mods - it's a lot of fun and not as difficult as I thought it would be.

I believe this will result in more sales of Witcher 2 and it's going to be a game people will keep coming back to.

Hopefully this means modding tools for Cyberpunk as well!

If you think about it if Cyberpunk will be created on RED_Engine. TW2 DEV-kit might work right away but if not..

Dont release it day one! Give it few months at least or year later with EE of Cyberpunk perhaps. Kids will create cheat mods straight away I'm not even talking about content spoilers, like secret locations or treasures.
Let people finish the game first few times no one will want to mod anything before finishing the story mode first anyway. Looking at Cyberpunk gameplay mechanics it will be possible to play few times and experience different playthroughs. 1.0 version of the game is always with some bugs let them patch it few times then sure why not..

If they release a modding kit at all for Cyberpunk, I will be very pleased, even if it comes out much later. However, I don't understand why you would prefer it to be delayed.

If someone creates a cheat mod, more power to them as long as they enjoy that sort of thing, but none of us would be under any obligation to use a mod we don't like.

Personally, my gaming experiences have been greatly improved by mods that flesh out a game world, make games more challenging, or add survival gameplay dynamics like hunger, thirst, injuries, wounds, infections, etc. And it can take many months or even years to make a big quest mod - the sooner a mod kit is released, the more time mod authors have to learn how to use it and put together something really cool.

And who knows, perhaps I can dust off some old campaign I prepared as a GM for CP2020 many years ago (if I can find it!) and adapt it into a quest mod.

So no Steam Workshop support on release. No biggie I can use the nexus I did with Morrowind and New Vegas.

"And while mod tools are never a bad thing, that’s not much to go on. So I sought clarification from CD Projekt – specifically in regard to Steam Workshop support and the relative complexity of the toolset. “A this point I can tell you that we’re concentrating on the tool as such, so no Steam mention at this point,” a rep told me."

What's cool is that CD Projekt already owns a digital distribution platform - perhaps they will work out a way for us to host our mods on GOG.com?

the point is not to type it to one platform completely. Nexus, steam and brilliant idea that gog too all three can be used, just let the users decide which one they want to go about with.

Hmm mod-kit.

So now we could finally have "The Bard: Saviors of Queens"
easy, short and fun, no violence, no complex storyline and definitely no morality.
and i really want the auto-play feature.

I'm not accustomed with developers treating their consumers so well, how should I proceed?

I've gifted a few games on Gog myself. Next time TW2 goes on sale I'll gift that.

Realize that you deserve that respect as a gamer and as a human being.
That will make you appreciate CDPR even more.
