Reptile and Yeahbrah collectively represent my take on this.

The Sony conference hasn't shown yet. For all we know, TW3 will get a little air time there to show how it utilizes that platform and its individual merits. There is nothing to suggest CDPR received special compensation for displaying at the MS conference. I imagine they did in some fashion because they made compelling uses for Kinect and SmartGlass but it could just as easily be prime exposire that was compensation, which is no small thing in E3 where space is valuable. It's not enough to swallow the bitter pill of XB1 for me but still---kudos for the efforts you guys at CDPR make to strive for some form of parity in development for everyone.

Also, TW2 was on 360. It makes sense that of the two consoles they'd go with MS first if not period as far as E3 is concerned. There's an install base there, despite how marginal it seems to many here who play on PC (and rightfully so---I'm going to make that jump someday) where there isn't yet for Sony.

Personally I'm also grateful to get the trailers and info now as opposed to later. What I saw was stunning and I plan to watch it over and over to figure out where the new mechanics display are.

Your terminology is ridiculous frankly but how it is has already been pointed out. It supposes that CDPR was made aware of something and paid not to talk about it. What did they not talk about exactly? Maybe your problem is more to do with putting The Witcher 3 on a platform that has confirmed DRM in the form of a necessary 24 hour log in once a day to use the game. That's on Microshits though. CDPR could walk away and decry this practice and maybe they look better for it. Or you have a group of people who are dismayed they can't play what will be an excellent game on the platform of their choice if CDPR made that choice and it makes them look bad to a different group of gamers.

I think that scenario above is bullshit though. CDPR will make the right decision as they can according to each platform. And there is nothing you've said or likely can say that would make me feel otherwise. But I kind of hope you'll try because I'm confused by your claims more than any disdain for them.

Kojima will accept cash from MS too?
Don't be silly.

More likely it was a contract they signed, where CDPR had to develop for Microsoft's gimmicks and give priority to initial release times. I seriously doubt it will affect anything beyond that. And if the OP wants to rag on CDPR for this, then he might as well rag on evey other dev out there because no one is going to turn MS down.

I really hope the bold part is not the case.

With regards to whether or not MS paid CDPR for them to show up at the event and make W3 use their bloody kinect voice commands then yes I am certain CDPR was paid.

That said, it's a bloody smart thing to do. It's the Xbox One E3 conference where they are for the first time revealing many of the games that will be launched on the console, an event watched by millions.

To have the chance to go on stage there...well you would be an idiot to refuse it, especially if the contract was only to make use the Kinect.

Though seriously if I hear the same bullshit from CDPR about how "it's better with kinect" that I was hearing from Bioware then I am going to strangle a puppy.

dragonbird: I made a new thread for a broader discussion:

This, basically. It's a huge audience, and if they were offered the chance to present, it would have been crazy not to take it.

Regarding launch dates, I'm pretty sure there's already been statements that all versions will be released at the same time, so barring technical hitches, I guess that will still hold.

To be honest, actually I don't care. You guys should be grateful that we got to see TW3 at the first conference itself and for ppl like me on the other side of the planet didn't had to stay up the whole night (well did most of it anyways)

Majority on this one. Paid in cash or paid in publicity, neither matters. This should, I hope, cement a solid fan base for cyberpunk if everything goes well.

OP, and what about all those trademarks that appears in the bottom of the forum? I mean, what do really want to say? That CDPR shouldn't negotiate with any other company?

If this is such a big deal how about all those games that start with "Nvidia - meant to play" cinematic? That is too pocketing money for optimizing and/or increase testing on Nvidia platforms...
I don't care if and how much money CDRP received from MS as long as I do get great gaming experience on other platforms beside XBox.

Games are business like anything else, and companies trading with each other is something completely normal. I don't see anything wrong with that. As CDPR is a public company listed on Warsaw Stock Exchange, any such partnerships should be made public when the next report comes out. So anyone can check it out, if that's so important to him.

For me, personally, there's nothing wrong with partnering with MS, or whatever other company. As long as they won't trade off anything I would consider important (like XB1-exclusive content), I have nothing against it. And, frankly, I'm rather happy to know how they approached the XB1 platform, utilizing it's specific features (voice recognition, SmartGlass) to provide a dedicated UI built with the features in mind. That's how it should be done: not level everything down to the lowest common denominator across all platforms, but take a different approach to each environment and build upon that. We know PC version will have a different approach to UI than console versions, and it's cool to see different consoles would have UI implemented with each of them in mind (PS4 version most likely will have Vita support, I suspect).

But if OP has different views on the situation, he'll just have to pass on future CDPR games. Sad, but it's his choice (however emotional and non-rational, judging from the tone of his posts), and I have nothing else to add to that, really.

Don't know what the BEEF is!!! So what if they took Microshit's money, I would too! The game is going to be out on both platforms and the PC. There will be plenty of time to show it off on the Playstation 4.

I agree, though I find it ironic that CDPR promptly responded to rather rude accusations of the OP about preferring Xbox based on some MS money, and didn't find it worthy to respond to a legitimate concern of ignoring other PC platforms besides Windows. This thread also generated way longer discussion than another one about cross platform coverage. May be rudeness / trolling just serve as catalysts?

You have been asked to keep discussions of TW3 on Linux out of threads where it is not on topic.

Please do not put the moderators in the position of having to remove off-topic posts.

Guy N'wah: If you paid attention I was commenting on the reaction of CDPR to this thread which was started with a rather rude accusation. What's the problem saying that I see an irony of CDPR responding to rudeness faster than to normal expression of concern.

Faster to than normal maybe by random 'cause MR360 saw it early and 'cause there are too hard acussations to stay silent needlessly?

One thing is free opinions, and another direct acussations....

Wichat: Well, I personally would rather ignore rude trolling and accusations, and instead would prefer to have discussions with those who are interested in normal dialog. But of course CDPR decide what to react to based on their own priorities.

The problem is that if a moderator politely asks you to stop doing something, he or she is not inviting you to carry on with called out actions or to discuss moderators requests further.

"What I can, however, guarantee here and now, is that if you want the 100 per cent DRM-free experience you will have it on the PC, the platform where we set the rules for our games. The Witcher 3 will be available 100 per cent DRM-free on our digital distribution platform GOG.com, and that's one thing I can confirm." Marcin Iwiński

Call me selfish but that's enough for me! If I don't like DRM I don't buy DRMed games ;)/> and this is the "weapon" which CDPR offer us to fight against DRM if we want to be heared by restritive plataforms holders.

"Ultimately," Iwiński said, "it's the gamers who will call the shots."
