I want to just add to a dialog, but I don't think that someone will go out to by a smartphone or tablet for their gaming needs. As a gamer buying a console or a gaming pc is needed, but if you are going to buy a smartphone or a tablet you will have a need that is non-gaming related for them to buy it.

I personally have a smartphone and I use it a lot for listening to music and watching videos on Youtube I never play games on it because I have my PC for that. I think It's best to wait and see what they come up with before we all start making assumptions on how good/bad this idea is. You never know, maybe they'll surprise us!

Yes, you are absolutely right! I wouldn't buy that for gaming reasons too. I just wanted to lighten the atmosphere a bit. I'm a little bit angry at people who start complaining about something, that they know nothing about. And if someone has a problem with mobile or tablet games, they should just ignore them and let others to enjoy them.

Fair enough, I can understand being angry at ppl ranting with little to no info. For me I think it would be best (from a gamer) to release this mobile game (and the tabletop game as it is also coming out to tablets) for the PC and for the mobile.

I'm sure 25 years ago people found the idea of buying a home computer (almost) exclusively for gaming completely ludicrous. And still, gaming found a market within the home computer segment.

I know not everybody has tablets, but you guys keep thinking of the wrong kind of games. Many games available for Android tablets nowadays are not very different from games available for the PS Vita or 3DS, which are dedicated gaming devices. The difference is most tablet games are designed for touchscreens, which can be very creative. Some examples of unique and interesting games:

There are also some cool adventure games that play well with touch (Machinarium, Broken Sword, etc...), and all time classics like Metal Slug 3 and Chrono Trigger.

I wouldn't be surprised if we see tablets designed specifically for playing games in the next one or two years. Consider, as well, most modern tablets use multiple wireless communication technologies (NFC, Bluetooth, etc.) and can be paired with gamepads, and can also export their displays. Ideally however, we would have open specification tablets, and not depend on Google or Apple.

Those two games can still be played on a PC via a Mouse. I can understand the argument about not all games need a controller, but the Room would be awesome on the PC and it would play perfectly with a KB+M. The issue I see is that developers don't see the market for a mid-tier game on the PC and the consoles, for them it is Indie or AAA.

Opening and closing drawers, combining objects, turning cranks, among other actions wouldn't feel as natural with K+M as they do with touch, that's part of the charm. And Contre Jour requires multitouch in the advanced levels: for instance, releasing two or more sides simultaneously for a slingshot effect; also, releasing tentacles with the right delay (fractions of a second) can affect the direction. I don't see how this would be even possible using conventional controllers.

Hm, those two games look good, though I have played something a bit similar to the first one on PC. Still won't get a smartphone or a tablet though.
I don't mind mobile development, if it is good. Though there are way too few good games on that platform percentagewise. I am just worried for them broadening their spectrum, there are so few PC developers, most port already from console. And hardly any ports are really good. And even if they do decent technical ports, you still often notice, that it was designed with a console in mind. So I am skeptical, that, if they ported it later, it would feel like a PC game.

Well, where is the announcement? I thought they said, it is coming in few days, but now it is weeks and nothing happened. :( My excitement weakens.
