These effects and movement in water are amazing.
Gearlt should do the same.

Essentially what you're saying is you want TW3 to outshine GTAV in terms of animation?

I'm sure it's going to be great. Same goes for the water effects.

Red Dead Redemption has insane level of attention to detail in the animations. I can't imagine RED doing any worse. They'll at least match Rockstar's quality, and that's fine by me.

Idk, The Witcher games so far haven't really had amazing animations, wouldn't be surprised if we don't get that much level of detail in that aspect. It's a cool touch but if the rest of the game sucks, a few good animations won't save it.

Gawd is in the details.
I'd very much welcome such flourishes. They can't salvage a broken game but they'd make a great one greater.

It's only fair to mention 1) leaked gameplay footage showed animations to be the stiffest link. 2) It was awarded pre-alpha status.

We will be getting some alpha goodness soon, though it's not certain how soon «soon» really is.

The running animation of Geralt could use some improvements.
when playing Splinter Cell - BL, I realized that although its animations are not perfect, I could feel most of Sam's movements which was somehow a new experience for me.

Well, reality is that in order to have great animations you got to have a great animator. They are not really in mass supply, you know. It is not just craft, but also an art, and a lot of specialists in this field simply won't be able to do it on such a high level even to save their lives. The best ones can easily find a job with much higher pay rate in LA, working in movie industry. I hope CDPR have someone really talented in-house, but if not, they will have to work with what they got.

Yes Exactly.

If last Gen pulled it off, so can they if not better!
The standard has been set really high-
but I have faith it will all be just fine by the end of production.
CDPRT OWNS.

Also.. Like GTA V & RED DEAD..
I think we should also have a zoom in,zoom out camera option-
on the fly. (the back button works well for that on 360).
It just makes the open world look so much bigger and more real from that perspective.

I actually disagree. The strut of all GTA figures is horrendous.... and water? No the styles of the games are different.

Well what about the camera option that GTA 5 has?
When you push the back button on 360 controller-
it gives us 2 more views of perspective.
I think that is at least a must for players like me.

HAHA No... I'm not talking about Geralt having to strut around like a gangsta.
I'm talking about the realism when one walks through water/mud or up a hill and down some stairs you know, shit like that etc.
But do it Geralt style />/> That's all />/>

I have yet to see a GTA game I'd hold up as an example of good gameplay. I'd list Sleeping Dogs, Arkham City and the Tomb Raider reboot as solid examples of TP animations, especially for free running. None of those games sacrifice responsive controls for realism.

EEWWWWWWWW no.

That camera is fine for those kind of games (secretly I detest them), but considering that for the Witcher? Hell no. Id rather sit and watch Will Smith's daughter sing all day..

To be fair, Witcher 2's walking/running animations were kinda lackluster. Geralt didn't seem to have any weight to him. It'll be awesome if W3 animations will match those of GTAV.

That was for everything though, not just movement animations but combat as well didn't feel like it had weight.
