CDPR said we could finish the game without doing the main quest. Is that possible or cut from the game too?

I should have made it more clear what I meant. I know about those missions, but they do require you to actually play the main mission.

True, but the quote only talks about finishing the main plot, not finishing the game without doing main missions. And since the suicide option exists, you can technically end the game without finishing the main story.

I am pretty confident that article references the suicide ending.

Wouldn't be surprised if they were just talking about the fact you could commit suicide and technically end the game.

Was my thought as well. Technically allows you to finish the game without completing the main storyline.

Yes, they do. That's also what the developer said in the interview you linked in this thread.

As you can see from the article, "things people actually say" and "how things get interpreted" can be two totally different things. The dev said what was quoted by apeabel and the reporter interpreted many things and named the article "Players can finish the game without the main quest". But that wasn't what the dev said. This would be more accurate: "Players can finish the game without finishing the main plot". And that exact solution can be achieved via the "bullet in the head" option. Game finished, main plot unfinished.

This is heading towards semantic nonsense, I'm out, it gets boring and weird / personal from this point. 👍

Oh yeah, that's definitely one way of doing it lol. I don't disagree with that. I just don't think that's what they meant. Atleast I hope not.

Awhh... depressing. But I think you're right.

I was hoping for some secret endings opening up if you did some stuff in certain ways etc.

So far I haven't found a side mission that actually changes anything, though.

I think in those interviews, what was said was WAAAY over-sold to be something bigger then it really is. It's actually pretty shallow and well..... kinda lazy if i had to choose a word to describe the "secret" ending.

Unless there is something tucked away in the game world that no one has found yet, the secret ending is what those interviews are likely referring to.

Utter genius! Game of the century! Bullet to the head as a resolution to the game... how fitting...

Actually I'd kinda like the option to start the game without the MQ. I just what to play in Night City without the imminent death/Johnny in my head thing the whole time.

Damn, it's like they are describing an entirely different game

His quote:
"Those subplots allow us to do something that we have never done before – they change the main plot of the game. And they are doing that in such a way that you may not even finish the main plot, but still finish the game and get a completely different epilogue than the player with a different lifepath who made different choices, met different characters and formed relationships with them."

Nothing he said is technically false.

Have you actually played the game? other than the Panam sidequest which is thrown in your face, which characters can you talk to outside of the main story and result in a different ending?

Technically it's accurate, if you have the bad ending, just as many "choices" in this game.

Cyberpunk 2077: "You can choose to play the missions we made, they're all optional"

Player: "It would be nice if I could side with Tyger Claws instead of Moxes, and after that take the Clouds for myself, so I'll reject Judy's offer for now".

Cyberpunk 2077: "So, you choose not to play the missions then. Ok. There's nothing here for you beside some texting messages. Have a pleasant day"
