And playing multiple characters makes this infuriatingActually I'd kinda like the option to start the game without the MQ. I just what to play in Night City without the imminent death/Johnny in my head thing the whole time.

How does suicide not count as finishing the main plot? it's literally part of the final mission just shorter than the other options. As you can see from the article, "things people actually say" and "how things get interpreted" can be two totally different things. The dev said what was quoted by apeabel and the reporter interpreted many things and named the article "Players can finish the game without the main quest". But that wasn't what the dev said. This would be more accurate: "Players can finish the game without finishing the main plot". And that exact solution can be achieved via the "bullet in the head" option. Game finished, main plot unfinished.
Have you? Here's what endings you get from the main story:Have you actually played the game? other than the Panam sidequest which is thrown in your face, which characters can you talk to outside of the main story and result in a different ending?
True but highly misleading.Have you? Here's what endings you get from the main story:
Suicide & Arasaka
You get 2 more endings for the Aldecaldos quests
Another 2 endings for Rouge's sidequests
And the secret ending for working it out with Johnny through his questline
Then there's the fact that all the remaining characters like River, Kerry & so on have different holo calls depending on your side quest choices. No matter how you spin it, what was quoted is still technically true.
Obviously highly misleading, as interview questions and responses often are. Tons of opportunity there. My only complaint is that most of the possibilities that we talk about for this game should be in there. Instead, devs gotta race to fix up last-gen for Feburary.True but highly misleading.
But your little summery opens up the possibility for added side quests to actually unlock new endings. Maybe ones that are not......
The only requirements for the secret ending are answering 1 question with the right answer, and waiting 5 minutes at the end. For all other interactions with Johnny you can be a complete total ass to him, but providing you choose the right option at his grave you will have the chance to do the secret endingHave you? True, but I believe getting to the graveyard scene in the first place requires you to have completed the rest of Johnny's questline. Tapeworm quest also, which is connected to multiple other sidequestlines. The only requirements for the secret ending are answering 1 question with the right answer, and waiting 5 minutes at the end. I assume this means the suicide ending. They stated this at one point. I'm just wondering if this is the case, or if it's another piece of cut content. Also wondering: could it be that this possibility simply hasn't been found out yet because it is so hard to achieve?
It's pretty damn bad, but it's worse for those who actually had years of being convinced this company was different from the rest. They said many things... that aged like milk in the back of your car during a hot summer in New Orleans...
