CDPR, thank you for this DRM-free experience
I had to log in and post this, in hopes that CDPR would read it, as I've been watching the DRM-free campaign very closely. The Witcher series, I must admit, has never been one where I considered it a must-buy, mostly due to being restricted to one protagonist throughout the series, no matter how likeable. However, the game became a must-buy with its DRM-free stance as I figured I needed to throw money at you guys as this is the direction where I want the industry to go.
Where I live, the ISPs are unreliable, as such I've avoided all online-only games and even then, steam's offline mode is unreliable as sometimes it needs to "call home". There have been times when I came home from work only to be unable to play the game I purchased because my net was down and I couldn't start up steam. GOG was like a breath of fresh air and always my prefered distribution channel for obvious reasons.
I am glad to hear that sales of TW3 has gone off the roof, and I'm currently installing the game now that I'm in the mood to be a witcher again. Regardless of this, I'm sad to see that this game is still pirated, but you guys knew it would be anyway. Still, with record breaking sales I hope you guys don't lose sight of that, regardless of the potential revenue lost to piracy. I will continue to support GOG and CDPR both financially and throughout my social circles to market your products and ideals of customer service over greed. Please don't lose sight of this, as I, and many others, have faith in you. You are more than just a dev to us, you're a beacon of hope!
