I think those two new AA games may be Gog exclusives. I would love Baldur's Gate/Icewind Dale-style game set in The Witcher's world. I wonder if that's even possible.

Like a party-based RPG where you create your own main character, and recruit others from a variety of races/classes, set in the universe of the Witcher, but not necessarily related to Geralt of Rivia? Is isometric too much to ask for? And with real-time combat masking a turn-based system a-la Baldur's Gate? Lots of stats and die-rolling??

Aaah... a man can dream!

I hope they will announce a non-witcher title. Small chances but wishful.

Something like what I said in my previous post, but non-Witcher related?

Why not work on another eastern European or even a more traditional fantasy title? I always thought a Darksword-inspired RPG would be fun.

Sorry, I'm a sucker for fiction... and RPG's.

I hopet it won't be a shooter.. Maybe it could be an action RPG like the combat in Darksiders 2? That'll be cool.

Maybe what CDP should make is some kind of mega-meta-game imbued with occult sorcery that lets us create any game we wish, with our minds!

I think it will probably be some DLC or an actual expansion for TW2. I don't think they are working on an entirely new game now, since they are a small studio and are focusing on the witcher 2 enhanced edition for xbox360 and PC.

So don't get your hopes too high people. And an old school stats based, isometric, party based RPG ?Nah, I don't think so. They stated that their future projects will probably be multiplatform, so again, don't get your hopes too high, cause then will be lots of disappointment and complaining on the forums(again...).

Let them do what they do best, creating mature, nonlinear story C&C based , engaging RPGs. ;)

P.S: For me a witcher game without Geralt is no witcher game, sorry...

I won't be complaining.. i just like to see them doing something different. It be nice if they could come out with their own IP and be successful with it. Like Bioware Mass Effect.

Any news?

An expansion with us playing Letho would be awesome. And yea for me the Witcher universe is not bound by Geralt.

Well a new game set in a different universe would be something nice indeed, but I don't think this will happen in the near future, maybe in 2-3 years. Or so they've told.

Well the witcher games are centered around Geralt, and his friends, so I don't know if they're going to do another witcher game based on an entirely new character.
But playing as Letho would be something. Just not a 2 hour long DLC where you have to kill Demavend, that would be a total waste.

New adventures of Geralt or Letho would be great.

I think I said in a previous thread that I wouldn't want to play as Letho because I don't want to be forced to kill innocent people in a game this well-written since I would get really involved in the story and feel really guilty about it. However we all know I'd buy it anyway :p

Hopefully regardless of who the main character is, the game would have the choices-and-consequences theme so that I could try to do what I think is best and not be forced into doing anything I don't want to do (for example, I still feel a bit put-off by the sequences in God of War where I am forced to kill prisoners in order to progress through the level).

That's the thing, they wouldn't have to come up with a "new character" if they let you create one yourself. I know the Saga of Geralt of Rivia is well, about Geralt of Rivia, but the world is so rich that a more traditional computer RPG would also benefit from it. This way there would be no interference with Sapkowski's work, and instead the game would feed from its stories, characters, folklore, history just the way computer RPG's like Baldur's Gate and Planescape: Torment took from D&D back then.

I know this is probably NOT what the news are about, but oh well. Just thinking out loud.

Personally, I hope it's a more traditional/party based RPG... in the Witcher universe.

Since almost all other former RPG companies have jumped ship over the last years...

I assume CDP now wants all the attention to be focused on xbox version..once that is "out of the way", they will be free to announce new titles. I would expect that summer conference will be nice and we will get some cool witcher 2 expansion announcement :)
