I'm playing on PS4, and to me 1.10 has much smoother performance, particularly noticeable in the previous problem areas. There are weird quirks, like the out-of-focus effect after talking to merchants in Novigrad and more noticeable detail pop-in here and there, also longer load times. But to me this is a good trade-off for a game that is really pushing the limits on the console and is really playing better than it ever has.
But the bugs with NG+ and trophies not popping are very frustrating. I'm a little paranoid about losing my save (I think with good reason), so I back up my saves fairly regularly to another computer. Luckily I had a NG save that I used for NG+ to load so I could play the expansion without fear of something very odd happening. But I know a lot of people didn't do that and hence are pretty much screwed.
My concern is that these bugs are so amateurish. I would expect that someone proud of their work would take some time to make sure such glaring problems didn't come up. Anyone loading up a NG+ on any platform would notice the problem with the DLC immediately. I can understand trophies maybe not popping correctly, that happens in plenty of games, but naked Geralt? There is something wrong with their development and testing process, not to mention that apparently XBOne copies got the wrong version? Now they announce a mod-kit update. Mistakes happen, but they should be falling all over themselves to fix this, and it seems they are very meh on their console customers.
But probably my biggest concern is their release schedule for patches. PC is getting hotfixes for what probably amount to small code corrections (Skellige's most Wanted, the DLC problem), but consoles aren't getting these fixes, we are getting only major updates. I don't know why this is. I've heard it costs them money to send an update to their console customers. It seems that more iterative work would yield better results, but to me this feels like they're cutting corners or even trying to save a buck. I find it hard to believe that fixing DLC or making an NPC die when he hits 0 HP is so very different on PC than console. I don't hold out a lot of hope that a fix will be coming before the next major patch, and who knows how long that will be - apparently no one, not even CDPR.
