CDP's strategy report for 2013-2016

http://www.cdprojektred.com/resources/document/2013/2013_05_-_zalacznik.pdf

Some interesting stuff there. Highlights from the CDPR section:

2013

- open REDkit beta and further support of the modding community

- premiere of the first non-computer game set in the Witcher world

- launch of a local branch of CD Projekt RED in the United States, focused on marketing and PR for both Americas, especially the US.

2014-2016

- launch of The Witcher 3 for at least three strong platforms including PC and PS4

- launch of Cyberpunk 2077

- two smaller (about 20 hours of gameplay) but top-quality games supporting one of the product lines

- a cross-platform mobile game based on one of CDPR's brands

- start of license sales for REDengine

- long-term Witcher 3 support involving completely new mechanics

- launch of the full version of the REDkit and further modding community support

- launch of further local CDPR branches in key territories

"- long-term Witcher 3 support involving completely new mechanisms"

Interesting.

What about long term support for Cyberpunk? Considering CDPR's track record I shouldn't have to ask, but you never know.

Lot's of interesting stuff here. "Non-Computer game set in the Witcher World" - now what could that be? International launch of an P&P-RPG?

I'm a little bit bump that the final version of the RedKit won't be released in 2013, but at least we'll get an open Beta :)

first they would have to buy the rights to the pen&paper Witcher game from the publisher called MAG. I wonder if such information can be checked. It would give a clear answer

Oh awesome, looks great! CDPR should expand. Only logical thing to do. Progress is awesomesauce. 2 "smaller" games huh. I welcome those so called smaller games with open fucking arms :D Preordering baby, I'm gonna preorder the shit out of them!

Nah but it looks good. A lot of things I'm looking forward to. Can't wait :)

CDPR makes 20h games and calls them "smaller" side projects - meanwhile the rest of the (publishing) world calls 5h games major blockbusters. Gotta love it!

Also intrigued by the non-computer game. I hope it's something substantial and new! Some kind of complex board game, or strategic card game. Please no TCG or Risk: Witcher...
Or maybe it's a Dice Poker Set - with the painted wooden box and all?

Thanks for sharing. I hope it is the PnP. It would make my other thread obsolete, but what the heck. :) Official support and professional budget spent on it, will always be better than something done in spare time, which might not ever come to something. Although might make the thread interesting to give them good ideas. :)

For some conspiracy theorizing: cdp.pl recently started selling digital books (and comics) in addition to games.
Including pen&paper rpg manuals :)

In tines of global economic downturn, it's uplifting to watch as manly ambition takes the lead.
Best of luck, CDProjekt!

There are a few bullet points I find puzzling. TW3 with "completely new mechanisms" You mean Geralt, The Pokémon?

Only three things are new: Local branch of GOG in US, 2 big R&D projects, more full priced games (60$) released on day one. Rest of the part about GOG is just about what GOG is.

You know it's CDP when "normal" for them means 50-70 hours and 20 is just short.
Now I know where to (apply?) work when I go to us :p :D
