The only real way to add censorship back in is basically to reverse engineer how the uncensored mod works. There are basically a set of uncensored and censored BIK movies, and a localized.bif file. If the US version (censored) is overwritten over the uncensored version, and you add all the censored movies, you have succeeded in making it censored. That being said, nudity is only the tip of the iceberg with censorship. The game is all very bloody, with quite a bit of swearing, that more than makes up for the nudity. There is no way to take that out. 
If the issue is with the nudity (which I can at least understand if one has kids playing), would think that if you just obtained the files from the American version, and copied them in and overwrote the blk files from the uncensored version, that should at least help with the offending digital nipples. I will talk with the more technical of those of us at strands of destiny and the witcherworld, and confirm, but basically, it is Overwrite all localized bif files, the current localized.bif with a US censored one, and you're done.
I agree with you about the blood and gore, tip of the iceburg for censorship. The american public it seems has allways been offend by nudity more then violence it seems. (An example of this would be the only TV-MA rating I have ever seen on public tv in America was for violence.)However the content in the localized.bif seems to over right the files contained in the larger bif files that contain the models and textures. Hi!I am trying to do the same thing. I don't like any form of nudity in my game. Pornography (even this mild) can be offensive to some, especially women. It also tends to portray women as objects rather than living beings. But I totally get that most of the people don't want their game censored. It should be the player's decision - you should be able to click nudity on/off in the game options. You can disable the videos by deleting the .bik files in your data folder that has "sex" on their names. You will still get the cards, however. The cards are located in localized00.bif file, which you can open with various programs. If you open the bif file, you will get many directories - one is named "dds". Inside the dds directory you have .dds files with "sex" on their name. If you delete these files and pack the .bif file again, you should have black cards in the game. The game works fine without the videos so I think erasing the card-files would work too.I just don't know how to repack the .bif file! If someone could help me do this, I'd be grateful!And also, I'm a 22-year-old european male. Hi!I did what you advised me to do and it worked!So if someone wants to know, you can open the .dds files with gimp or with photoshop (you'll need a plug-in, though). Then you can color a sex card black and make multiple copies of that file. Then you can simply rename the black copies that you have made to correspond to the original cards and they will appear black in the game also. After that just copy your edited .dds files to data/textures folder (which I had to make myself). Oh, and by the way, the druid texture is also there (cr_naked3_c1.dds) so you can censor/replace it using the same method. Or if you want to uncensor the game, that's the file you've gotta replace.
Simply don't have sex with anybody, and you won't have to see their card.
The game's rating should be a HUGE clue as to whether you allow children to play or not. The language itself isn't kid friendly. As for you role playing a different way, the whole premise of the Witcher (both in the books, and in the game) are based on the content you see. If you want to tell a different story, go ahead. Fact is, the content you are objecting to is part and parcel to the storyline. I doubt Sapkowski would rewrite his books for you. Perhaps a blindfold would help?Don't want to see it? Maybe you should try ask one of the American users with a censored copy to swap you their copy for yours. I know it will cause a hassle in shipping and what not but thats the best I could come up with. Good luck with it. :-\
Greetings,First time player, and I love the game and its setting to bits already. The nudity, sex, and gore is suiting to the atmosphere, and I'm not looking to censor it in any way. I would, however, very much like to exchange the sex cards for the censored ones - I just feel they are much more tasteful and seductive, in a way. Someone replied, explaining which .bif holds the art for the cards, and you can simply delete them in order to replace them with a black box, but in order to exchange them for different cards (in this case, the censored versions), I would first of all require the unaltered files of these cards, so does anyone know of somewhere these can be downloaded, or maybe you have a US-version yourself and wouldn't mind extracting and sending me a copy? Lastly, I would also need to learn how to repack these .bif-files once I've added these cards in, replacing the old ones.I'll keep scouring the Net for now. Thanks in advance.Regards,Kindo
I live in the US but ordered the EU version of the game or I could upload the censored cards for you. But if you do run across them, (24 of them in the EU version with the names starting with sp_sex_abigail1.dds)simply place them in the localized or _localized00 folder (You might have to create one if you have never installed any other mods) and it will automaticly overide the ones found in the bif file. (So no need to repack)Kindo said:
