Change mini-map to compass

Now before you all flame me - the title was just to get your attention. Because I am an attention wh... person.
What the Witcher 3 needs is a new compass.

I'm all about immersion. So having to look at a mini-map makes me forget where I'm going and where I've been - because all I have to do is follow the path on the mini-map and I'm home free.

So I'd really like to see a mod that changes the mini-map into a compass, like the one in Skyrim.
You can see what's around you and approximately how far away, as the icons on the compass fades/appears depending how close you are those places.

Don't think it needs anymore explaining. I'm sure some people, like myself, are here to scratch that Elder Scrolls itch.

By the way, I have no idea if this can be done, or if it requires too much work. But I really hate mini-maps.
I've tried turning the damn thing off - but I just end up getting lost and being told I cannot go any further in that direction.

Getting lost while wandering around is half the fun. Plus, I think you can turn off the path (and other related stuff) in the options and keep the mini-map up if you want.

Definitively there's an option that allows you turn on/off . Search in the interface menu.

Oh yeah, I know you can turn off the mini-map. I just want an alternative to it - preferably like the one in Skyrim.

You can costumize you mini-map functions. Almost at every detail if you combine it with the map filters
