Chapter 2 - movement control failure (no spoilers)

Right from the start of Chapter 2 as Geralt I have found that often the movement keys refuse to respond. This also happens again after the first cut scene to follow your fight as Geralt in Chapter 2. So even if I'm able to move before that cut scene, chances are I won't be able to after.
I have configured the controls so that the arrow keys are used for movement. I don't know if this, and their belated entry as bindable keys, is the cause of this bug, or if it's something else.
Any help would be appreciated. But I'm under the impression that I'm once again going to be waiting on a patch for this game to be playable.
