Not to mention that there were plenty of people historically who fought for a living that wore their hair long.

The Spartans were famous for it.

Just trying to bring balance to the discussion. I got the feeling he's either trolling or being goofy. Bimbo is not a word I've heard used seriously in a very, very long time. Not saying people can't be upset by it, it's just a good idea to have someone's motivations in mind.

Annnnyyywayy... OT!

Female V is awesome. Anyone who disagrees that she should unequivocally be the face of all 2077 marketing and media is wrong, because, as I said, she's awesome. So screw it.

Seriously, though, her voice and design are both pretty great. I'm really curious if that character model in the trailer is actually the female V shown in the demos, though. Can anyone confirm this? Anyone read a journalist's impressions that clarified?

And, again... I'm not in any way against a male being on the cover art or being the face of the game. All I care about is good character design, and good voice acting. Unfortunately, I feel the male V's voice (assuming the trailer voice is his voice) is below-average, and his design uninspired.

I almost strictly play males in games, with the exception of Mass Effect, Fallout 4, and (apparently) 2077, because the female voice actresses were all just better. Not always better in every game ever, just in those specific cases.

Actually, Spartans were allowed to grow their hair and get married only after they finish their military service.

I don't think and I don't hope we get this girl in the cover (and really if there is a generic female depiction - that's it), simply because she doesn't really represent the game, just a very certain aspect in the universe (some people getting crazy).

Well, that is your opinion, just like it is my opinion that the female V you think looks good, doesn't. I saw 3 or 4 more attractive women/men in the same trailer than female V or male V.

I do hope we get that woman on the cover or in the game because she's gorgeous and she's an actual model 3D captured by CDPR, unlike the Vs you've seen in the trailers. That's why she looks gorgeous.

Blech. Not interested. Never found skimpy clothing attractive (nothing against it, just not my thing).

Much prefer new V. But I see why you like this character. I'm sure you'll be able to create someone similar.

I don't care for nudity, I like her face. The revealing outfit is icing, sure, but that face is the face of an actual model. Not handmade like Triss or Yen, they looked beautiful but generic.

i challenge you to actively use the word "bimbo" in a sentence without it being insulting to the subject.

and so what if she's not real? Is it ok to call Jackie a "spic" because he's not real?

Not against her having her face in the game, but I do take issue with her being on the cover. Not a lot of issue, just a little bit of issue. :p Certainly not going to rage if she is.

As someone else said (Seth?), the character in the original trailer was not representative of an actual game character, or the PC, as is often the case with game cover characters.

Female V, on the other hand, is actually a playable character, and although the MC is customizable, games like Mass Effect still use the same character on the cover that they did in a lot of their marketing.

To what subject? I wasn't generalizing in any way and was using conditional sentences. And female V. lives in a very gritty and dark world, she doesn't need you to be her white knight.

They wore their hair long while in military service.

"In time of war, too, they relaxed the severity of the young men's discipline, and permitted them to beautify their hair and ornament their arms and clothing, rejoicing to see them, like horses, prance and neigh for the contest. Therefore they wore their hair long as soon as they ceased to be youths, and particularly in times of danger they took pains to have it glossy and well-combed, remembering a certain saying of Lycurgus, that a fine head of hair made the handsome more comely still, and the ugly more terrible."

LOL! It's true and you know it! Apart from the vampire lady from Blood and wine (which I still haven't played because I'm waiting on this dude to finish updating his mod since Feb 2018) whose name I don't know and Ciri. There are no unique women. They are all morphs of one preset or the other. It always bothered me.

I think Triss was pretty unique looking, and I agree about the vampire lady and Ciri.

But yeah, Yenn could be seen as a bit generic looking. I think her eyes and outfit are what made her stand out to me (yes, I know a lot of sorceresses wear black, I mean her specific outfit).

There are plenty of different opinions about that. Plutarch is not 100% credible, you know. The fact is that when they were young and served they had short hair. When they got older they were allowed to grow their hair, but when they went into war they braided their hair. It's ridiculous to think that they would allow their hair to compromise them in battle. Read more contemporary historians..

I provided a source supporting my opinion,. I could also have quoted Herodotus, who tells us the Spartans had a custom of combing their hair on the eve of battle (unnecessary if it's all hidden under a helmet), or posted a links to ancient artwork like this one that depict a hoplite with long hair.

Notice in the artwork the man's hair does appear to be braided, but they are long braids that protrude from his helmet.

Provide a source for your assertion that they had short hair. So far you've offered nothing but unsupported opinion.

Only time I see it seriously anymore is when women start calling each other the term. Usually, there's infidelity of some sort involved somewhere. If not infidelity, an ex.

But even that's limited; these days, the word "slut" is completely replacing "bimbo" as the go-to word.

So, yeah. All the campaign against usage of the word "bimbo" has done is make things worse. Which is par for the course anymore.

There's only so much you can do with the human body, and when using a single skeleton for everyone you are even more limited. It's likely to stay this way for a few more decades, just due to technology limits.

This is a dude who's a professional mma fighter and calls himself "The Spartan"

before the fight

and during the fight

Real Spartans braided their hair like that, which is evident in every ancient artwork. They would never go into fight like in the first picture and be compromised. As for short hair they had it until they reached maturity and have finished training (around 21 yr old). I'm done with this subject and porn!o_O
