He's been changed since at least E3. People said he looked like Sauron and that his huge armor was kind of silly. Personally, I think they could use both designs. The big armor is for raiding villages that will pose no resistance and it's to scare people. The other is for combat.

He's gone from the most badass, villainous and deathly villain design in any fantasy game yet, for which I had hoped the CE statue would be based on, or a new statue just in general for my to purchase.

At first I too was disappointed when I saw they changed it. I love the old design, but I can see it being a bit too bulky and Sauron-esque. After seeing the armor in the newest trailer, I'm convinced. The new design looks really damn good in-game.

It is fucking ridiculous when they change outstanding old design after couple posts saying huur durr sauron
and when fans for almost all the time want white hair and beard for Geralt lol just no, we just make him more tanned

The redesign of Eredin was really unnecessary, and even pretty damn bad. His first design actually looked menacing, View attachment 8317 and now he looks like one of his generic skeleton grunts. I really don't understand why would they change his look so drastically.

I have heard rumor on 4chan about change of lead graphic artist.
He didn't like vision of his predecessor so he changed it.

Yeah, there is kinda no other explanation for this right now. Could we make a petition or something, to ask CDPR for old design as dlc? They somehow decided to make a Yennefer with two different outfits, so this shouldn't be a problem if they've got the old models sitting somewhere on the PC shelf of development table...
Almost like he came from another world, not entirely fitting to the one Geralt currently resides in, right?...
