Not to defend this behavior or anything but the poster in question is doing this on Pillars of Eternity forum too, so this is not really a CDPR forum issue.

I did not mean to imply it was isolated to CDPR forums .In fact i started out with a statement that heavily implies this issue reminded me of a childish argument on another forum. i will say imply only because I did not out right say it, but really it seems pretty clear to me that i was not claiming this was isolated to CDPR forums.

i was stating that i don't want this problem as seen on other forums being brought over to this forum. But also expressed that it wasn't going to happen because games are not resonable people so they will complain about childish things.

Fair enough but it is kinda of pointless to complain about that in The Witcher forum, I can say by now that this game is being made with most male gamers in mind.

To be fair, beauty is almost 100% in the eyes of the beholder.

That is why I dont like his style of arguing. That woman from DA:I he is complaining about so much actually looks fairly decent to my subjective standards of beauty... and I am a straight male...

I am bewildered at people sometimes. The exact same thing goes for cars and machines even! Yet they dont understand subjectivity as a notion...

This. My eyes are very easy to please also... in regard to this. I never understood why people are so easy to call people fat or chubby faced when they are 80 pounds underweight or such... Most women are beautiful to me so I'll just enjoy the game regardless of whether everyone is super models or not... :) (Not saying the main TW3 women are or aren't super model looking..)

[Bold,italics, ect. mine]

That is true i find that a fair portion of internet does not know what subjective means, they know that objective is better than subjective so you'll read things like, "objectively women with long hair are more beautiful." errr what? They don't understand that simply saying something is objective doesn't make it so. They also think that because they subjectively don't like something that means it is objectively bad as well. You see this with games especially take DA:I, many people enjoyed the game and many people didn't but there is a concerted effort on the people who didn't to somehow show everyone who likes the game that they are objectively wrong about their subjective opinion of liking the game.

i am surprised that the concept of subjective vs. objective is lost on so many people as it is a relatively simple concept to grasp. Its seems they don't understand that it is perfectly valid to have a subjective opinion about entertainment but you don't need to convince other people you are right because you are only "right" for yourself.

I tried to express that to him previously but it got very off topic and things were deleted (no ad hominem, just too far off topic).

Anyway, in regards to character appearances and classically attractive women in tw3... I don't care that much. I see them as how they ought to be in how I envisioned them in the books and whether CDPR caught that. As for that DA:I bs from that other dude, I think if her appearance suits her personality there's literally nothing I have to say. Why can't some people engage with a character for their personality traits rather than literally picking a character based on their appearance? then bitch if there's no character with an appearance to their tastes?

idk attractiveness isn't even an issue how did we even get here.

what has any of this got to do with tw3. why.

I came into the thread thinking we'd get updated major character appearances in TW3 and I see a war between feminists and normal people.

God, can't escape them anymore. At least I know who to ignore now.

I love the details in the character's appearance.
Made a little background with characters found in the official videos and screenshots.

It was better quality but disappears a bit when uploading it. But it's not so bad.

Witcher 3 Gender Appearance

Been watching the streams and Anybody else notice how nearly all females in this game are attractive and nearly all males look disgusting? Im straight but I can appreciate good looking people of both genders. Witcher 3 seems to favour the females a lot though. Less competition I guess.

Not really

The peasants generally look disgusting. Some are pretty. Some are decent.

The nobility will usually look better. Both genders.

Meh men are overrated either way.

No but seriously this is a game mostly marketed at male gamers, so kinda hard to expect the opposite.

Besides, as I mentioned in the last part of this discussion, we have Geralt.

There is a difference between wanting diversity in your games and Shoehorning it in just for the sake of checking off a checkbox.

Do it for artistic integrity and For lore or story reasons, Not with an agenda in mind. That is the key thing to remember. I applaud CDPR for not giving in to idiotic sites like polygon, That review was trash.

Am I the only one not digging TW3's flowy hair Geralt? Hopefully, there are more options

Actually CDPR sometimes ignores the lore in favor of "ascetically" pleasing their audience, Ciri is one good example. I am mostly a person obsessed with lore consistence, sometimes it is kinda hard to play The Witcher. I always have to turn off that part of me in adaptations.

Id say Ciri looks quite OK. Remember, scars fade over time. Even bad ones. Not completely, true, but I see nothing impossible here, considering what has happened in the Saga and even in "Something Ends, Something begins".

Now, Triss's eye and hair colour .. .that annoys me.

Totally forgot Triss, yes that too. Surprisingly I think Yen and Geralt are the only ones that do not annoying me to that point but I have to remember this is a AU. As for Ciri I just cannot get past her boots, it is something out of place in her design. Her young version is a lot better.
