How much time did it get you to repeat the search changing a letter until you got a result you liked, Sard?

I thought this topic was about Romance Discussion.. I guess I was wrong... (Said Wars in a very strange tone)

I want to have at least 200 romanceable characters.. Every one of them should be different and diverse.. Fully voiced and....

I am kidding of course.. Am I kidding? Yeah..

I want it like the witcher. I don't want CDPR to try to please those needy hope-less romantic people who think we live in the perfect world.

NO.

This is not a perfect world. This is a mature, ruthless, and realistic world. The sex should be real. Relationships should be real. Attraction should be real.

How much part it has with the storyline is up to the devs. As for who you "romance" and how much you do it is up to the player and his character's personality type.

Period. B)

I don't want it to be like in bioware games where ultimate goal is sleeping with her/him. Yes like in Witcher; I want it to be part of the story, change with the story, where you have to work on it, try to co-exist in this brutal world and ultimately no happily ever after, no thanks. It should be sometimes more about benefits and less about love. f.i. you should be with her/him for she/he is an important character that benefits you socially; people should see you differently(not necessarily in a good way) just cos you are the one who she/he accepted as a "partner". And ofc depending on personality you could really be in love with her/him if you chose to. Then she/he should react to your other little or big "affairs".

i can only repeat myself, cdpr should not look at bioware for inspiration of romance in games but at games like "the darkness"

Pretty sure you've already asked that one, and I'm also pretty sure you already know the answer.

I'll leave it to @Sardukhar to decide how to edit your post...

That sounds so awkward...Pressing 'X' to thrust is not something I have any desire to do. Maybe if it was just a conversation during sex I could be okay with that, or better yet after...

Bioware romance admittedly is kind of too cheesy for a cyberpunk genre and titled game. But i believe romance should be added and i swear that Cd Projekt Red will add it. But the question is how and what extent.

Witcher 2 implented it good but it's not mature mature nor it wasn't related to bioware. (Wait...) Romance in Witcher 2 was rare, actual romance. Trish and Ves are the only true romance feels in my opinion. Conversation came up even few long levels and then. Which is actually good in a movie experience way. And in a small way, realistic. (Woman, i don't time to stick my smush in your lash)

But Bioware got the frequency in a way right. If your lover is a companion and in the game, you meet quite frequently. Then your lover will talk to you a lot. You don't have to go all mass effect shepard and talk back. But even douches with GFs, GFs come back.

Anyways to clarify, Cyberpunk is going to be more open world, non linear and somewhat a sound of a quite strange Story RPG simulation.

Romance should not be like Bioware nor The Witcher but somehow, if it makes sense. Skyrim Dawnguard and The sims mixed together. Like Cyberpunk 2020 as one of the pictures shown, http://tinypic.com/view.php?pic=54d56x&s=6#.VNpgVOYxVdg
you choose what you want.

I reckon, romance differences is your choice.
If you choose a girl, that smokes, is depressed, and is a hopeless damsel in distress. It be a blade runner type romance, if you try to go after her. She try to go away or hide things. If you treat her badly, she might even kill herself.

If you choose for example, a single mother working a food stall. It be a nice richer boyfriend kind of way. With the child being your emotional connection

Another example includes your pre girlfriend. who could become your ex or your distance lover.

If you choose a new young youthful naughty teen, it be a sort of a young sister type of way. ( No incest) i mean of course, your character is probably going to be a bit mature and older, so you do more side quests for her. And try to protect her

Romance should be included like this and no point excluding it. As it's likely be meaningful inclusions in the main story and completely optional to follow through afterwards. Though, a fables way of micro managing. Buying a house, kids be nice... but it might be too hardcore for CD projekt Red LoL.

I hope there is a seamless transition between the gameplay and the sex bits and we have like a tactical menu where if we press a direction on the d-pad or something we can tell our companions to advance, wait, etc... but when we're in sex mode the messages change to things like "not there" or "don't worry, I'll tell you when I'm going to finish".

What about no sex and just a few romance to spice it up but nothing more?

I mean, I don't mind the game flirting with pornography, hardcore sex or those kind of things.

But come on, it's Cyberpunk, not "The Sims/Sexvilla 2077", you have plenty porn site all over the web (even when you don't ask to), to fap over some pixel porn or whatever, I don't give a f*** having a girlfriend or a boyfriend, or something in between, there are more deepness to explore in the 4000+ pages Cyberpunk's world, than sexual or romantic relationship who only take...4 at best...

It's actually fun in the Pnp because it can add side quest mostly random when the GM don't know what to bring next, but I don't see the point in a video game where it'll just give some mandatory side quest that'll be boring and uninteresting at all (go save the princess cliché), it's pretty childish actually, no need for a cyber girlfriend, thank you, the real one are already boring enought.

"My character needs deepness, let's give him/her something to fuck that he/she can brings to a restaurant! Oh! and what about having kids? so we can go to the shopping mall, choosing what color we'll paint their room?"
Seriously...

Are we supposed to play a cool Edgerunner fighting global corporations in a dark futuristic world, living his life day-to-day, with a daily dose of bullshit happening to him, going from the darkest corner of the combat zone to the brightest corporate area?

Or Mr "Nice-Guy" with his casual love life & family paying taxes and eating 8 vegetables a day because ads says so?

I'd rather have CDPR spent time over AI, or actual "gameplay" stuff more than romance who'll just take 1% of the game, since your girlfriend will ends up dead or cheat on you, or kidnapped by anywho you fucked with, it's cyberpunk, everything is disposable, even yourself, you'll ALWAYS end up alone...

Unless you can strangle her/him as you have sex, chop the body off and sell it to a body bank...
Now, this is cyberpunk.

I'm much more on a simplistic and not too much deep take on it, keeping it somewhat realistic, but it's an action-RPG with dismemberments and big guns not a social life simulator...
Your "love" shouldn't matter much in an egocentric and greedy world as the one of cyberpunk where people only think about themselves.

Yikes, terribly cynical much? Yet, I agree with you on most points about us needing fairly realistic setting with dystopian elements (like the fact that our "girlfriend" could get killed, kidnapped or cheat on us when we least expect it). Only thing I disagree on is the fact that you made it seem like in you're last paragraph that everyone only think about themselves, which I doubt strongly (even in a dystopian setting) cause everyone's got family (rather by blood, arms or general-goals and ideologies) that would see to it to at least defend their own (rather they be family, friends or colleagues).

And sure, Criminals don't care about no one, but themselves, yet even they are willing to set up deals, partnerships and neutral-territory - now why is that? Cause it's counter-productive to always duke it out, wars cost and they'd hate to just lose what they risk life and limb over just like that (unless, you were dealing with some Psycho or Sociopath who isn't materialistic at all) over trying to prove who's tougher (which is exactly why they resort to peaceful negotiations, even when they can't stand each other, so everyone gets out richer in the end, except of course for the poor basterds they screwed with to get the said $$$).

And as for sex? I think it could be a nice touch on the inner workings of the Criminal Underworld (prostitution and human-trafficking, so to speak) that we could either become more lucratively a part of or disrupt for some understandable reason (if you become a part of the dirty-dealings you could have some random prostitute grow on you more and more through some sympathetic sob story and if we disrupt the business we receive some help/info from a victim from within the business that we can equally have an opportunity to get more intimate with, once everything's said and done). It is a dystopian future, right? Mind as well let us try to have a go at making a truly intimate relationship work with a whore or ex-whore.

But, everything else you've said is completely spot on and I agree 97.9%.

Do you live in a vacuum? Do you have no interest in any sort of relationship at all? Are you as close to cyberpsychosis as you can get without actually going over the edge? On some level most humans have some desire for companionship. Whether it's for safety, friendship, love, etc. To some a relationship is a means to an end, whether it's offering sex for security (food and protection) or advancing your own agenda. To others it relates to needing to feel important or wanted/needed/desired. CP2020 had two very notable relationships, Johnny Silverhand and Alt, Rogue and Santiago (even though Santiago had no hope in hell, he still tried). We are human, we are emotional, we are broken, we are demons and angels. "The net is vast and infinite."

Well, you might be. SOME of us are so heavily cyborged, we've replaced our interest in humans with an interest in tic-tacs. Better conversationalists anyway, tic-tacs.

Relationships are not for everyone and in the Dark Future, it's appropriate for them to be tinged with cynicism and mistrust, when they happen at all.

What? Spies, informants, collaborators, and backstabbers exist in the Dark Future in even greater numbers then they do now? Say it isn't so!

people who lack sex drives are known today as asexuals, apparently hormonal imbalance or damage to the brain can cause lower libido to the point of becoming completely asexual.

other than that, i think cynics, if they aren't asexual, would probably just RIDE PONIES TO VICTORY!!
