Characters from the books?

Hey guys I'm trying to make my own interpretations of the characters from the books for practice but it's hard to find information on them so I'm asking to those who've read the books if my stuff is missing something crucial is entirely off.

Tried to do Vilgefortz for now.

What do you guys think?

also any general art advice would be really cool. I'm still learning how to paint digitally.

Maybe it's been too long since I read the books but if I remember correctly there was never a good description for Vilgefortz. I'd say that's one character who's up to the reader's imagination to create a mental image of.
Yay for drawing characters from the books though, I prefer doing that over the character design of the characters in the games too, for the most part.

I'm using photoshop. I wanted to get info about the characters to make a good design like their character,demeanor some quotes or actions they did that contribute to their character would be cool. I'd also like advice on stuff like proportion and color. If anything that puts you off or something you think will make it better let me know lol.

Obviously a picture of Vilgefortz, before certain important events occured that disfigured his face, eh?

I imagined him to be more scraggy (is it scraggier?), with a good deal more hawk-like features and probably looking about a decade older. But I have no idea if that's just imagination or based on any descriptions in the books.

I very much like how well your picture conveys the arrogance and his dignified appearance though!

Oh tell me about that event,just put it under a spoiler thingo. Did it say in the books about him looking like a hawk? but I like the idea and I'm going to try to put that stuff in, maybe I took the whole young thing to far lol.

here's another concept I did for a fire genie. Here's a question:Where do genies come from? I kindof assumed they come from some other dimension or plane and are just summoned or something or are they just like wild beasts

If anyone has any suggestions on what characters to do next that's be cool. Preferably a character or creature that hasn't been drawn by someone else yet.

For Vilgefortz I'd say cunning, ruthless, slightly dangerous looking, and as for scenes, I remember the scene in which he tries to persuade Geralt to join in with his plan as having been a strong scene, he's more a caricature of a badly drawn cartoon villain later on, didn't like his portreyal in Lady of the Lake, it was pretty flat. He actually seemed like he may become a deeper character earlier on. Somebody needs to draw this guy after he gets disfigured :,) Maybe I shall sometime. Bonhart's an interesting character to draw too (more interesting than Vilgefortz IMO.

From the other stuff you posted & your icon (I'm assuming you made it too), I'd say I can't help you, looks good to me >] Can't wait to see the finished pic :]

kind of, didn't know what I was going to with this one at first I just sketched a face then hey maybe it could be characters then I thought maybe it could be Rience but it probably doesn't match his description since I had no description to go by. I tried googling but got nothing. Can anyone give their own description of Rience?I'll probably revisit and mess with the costume for this guy but for now here
