Charles Dance to voice the Emperor of Nilfgaard in Witcher 3: Wild Hunt

Charles Dance is a great actor. But.

From the books I got the impression that Emhyr was still relatively young. In his prime in both physically and mentally. (something like 30-35?) And Dance is old. I mean grandpa old. And his voice doesn't sound like someone who is in his prime.

Yes, Emhyr is in his mid-forties. But very often it is impossible to determine age by the voice, if the voice remains clear and strong. Charles Dance has a good strong voice, and as long as we can separate his face from his voice, and immerse ourselves into the world of TW3 it is fine.
Tywin Lannister is not grandpa old, he is in his early-mid fifties, or about 10 years older than Emhyr. So we are not talking about 40 years difference here.

In 13 years he escape from his court. Few years later he saved king of Cintra. After 15 years he come back and married his daughter. And then their child were born in 1252. Third game took place in 1272, right?

That means, that Emhyr is somwhere around 50 years old. Maybe even more than that.

I wouldn't expect one until close to release. It's mostly about the fact that generally the bulk of voice acting is done quite close to release and someone like Charles Dance doesn't have the time to spend for too many sessions.

EDIT: To the people mentioning that there were complaints about Novigrand before this trailer the reasons for that were due to very small so called cities of TW2, like Vergen and Loc Muinne.

I am glad they made it fucking huge. It is the biggest city in the North after all.
